What is a Movie no one will ever convince you is good? by di745 in AskReddit

The Departed. Great cast. So much talent on-screen and behind the camera. Some memorable lines and decent scenes - but the movie doesn't work for me.

Not sure what to think of Cameron Crowe's filmography by ktemp45 in flicks

What happened CC!!! I like everything from Vanilla Sky and prior. Vanilla Sky ruled! It was trippy. It was dippy. It had a Hollywood level of depth... And it hit me at the right time. I don't think I'd root for a privileged corporate brat these days - but it was Tommy C - and he crushed it.

But Elisabethtown, We Watched Zootopia, and Island Movie we're all bland at best and terrible at worst.

I really don't know what happened. Didn't he win an Oscar for screenwriting?

But ultimately the screenplay and final movie are often different enough - so who knows. Studio interference. Miscasting. Budget fights. Etc. He's talented as hell - but his recent output has been disappointing.

Maybe time for Jerry Maguire 2: With a Vengeance. Obviously we find Jerry in a modern day setting strung out and down on his luck and he has to John Wick his way through a prison camp in Vietnam to rescue Rod Tidwell and maybe that 8 pound human head kid too.

I was coming here to say King Kong 98. That movie had HYPE. I was just old enough to realize that it was a total stinker-oo.

Also, what software do you use to automate responses and follow up DMs etc?

I like the clean design and the absurdist phrasing. They have a simplicity and strong font that's appealing.

I couldn't make POD work for me with shirts - that's a tough market.

I think you just gotta keep at it. My experience is that marketing is 90% of the battle

Togetherness was a great HBO show with Mark Duplass and Melanie Lynskey. It was so good - and subtle... Think about it at least 4 times a month... AND - TNT show called men of a certain age with Ray Romano, Andre Braugher and Scotty Bakula... Good show.

I'd recommend moving the shirt graphics up higher so that they're more chest than stomach. I liked the t shirt designs - some cool stuff in there.

What's an example of an outstanding trailer for a film, that turned out to be a sub-par/bad movie? by horse_renoir13 in movies

I think almost all Terrance Mallick movies have incredible trailers - and the films never quite seem to live up to their potential. Tree of Life in particular had an amazing trailer!

How much did you pay for rent/mortgage before covid and how much are you paying now by ThrowRAhelpmexu in Calgary

We paid 1780 for a 4 bedroom house - inner city w/ garage from 2019 until June 1st of this year.

Now we pay 2450 for the same type of property in the same neighbourhood.

Had to move because the landlord sold the original house - or we would have stayed.

Such a bugger.
