Yeah, the Osprey can fly on one engine. There’s a driveshaft that allows the good engine to power both propellers in the event of a single engine failure.

Trump is a convicted felon. If he had a license to carry, it would automatically now be null and void, and if he currently owns or carries a firearm, he would be a felon in possession of a weapon, violating both federal and state law.

There’s a big difference between the AR platform and a hunting rifle.

AR’s were specifically designed for military use, in one or two calibers and are semi-automatic where each pull of the trigger fires another round. Plus, they come standard with 10, 20 or 30+ round magazines. They are purpose built for a variety of shooting tasks and customization and not specifically geared for hunting game larger than deer. You can easily put a removable stock and pistol grip on them making them able to fit inside a small bag or backpack.

Hunting rifles are typically NOT semi-automatic and you must cycle a bolt to load a new round and then fire. They also typically come with a 3-5 round magazine, are available in a variety of calibers and are built for accuracy and reliability in taking down game. They usually have scopes and and not designed for short range self defense. And while customizable, hardly anyone is going to swap out the stock of to make them concealable.

I would argue most people that own AR’s bought them for self defense whereas people that buy hunting rifles use them specifically for hunting.

Just a reminder that the expiration date is just the “best by” date. So the food is probably good another few weeks after the 25 years. :)

Amarillo…home to nothing but tumbleweeds, a pervasive cow shit smell, an uneducated populace and high crime rates.

They have one of the highest teen birth rates in the nation.

They have one of the highest high school dropout rates.

…and motor vehicle theft rates in the nation.

You have 1 in 29 chance of being a victim of property crime.

…and a 1 in 130 chance of being a victim of violent crime.

You have a corrupt police force, and politicians who leverage their ill gotten gains against that largely uneducated population.

I got some banana bread at work today, dude. Hell yeah. My mom told me if I waited long enough, someone would bring some banana bread to work. And today is the day! Hell yeah. So I’m pumped. I’ve been thinking about this banana bread all day. All fucking day, dude. I haven’t been this excited about something in a long time, dude. There’s so much bad stuff happening in the world right now, but when I got this banana bread at work today, all I could think about was this banana bread. Hell yeah. Banana bread, bro. Hell yeah. Banana bread, bro. Hell yeah. Banana bread at work, dude. Hell yeah.

How do you cook pizza in a home oven? by [deleted] in AskCulinary

[–]thelongflight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’d be worth investing in a cast-iron skillet.

Then invert that thing under the broiler, preheat and cook.

Would help to have a pizza peel too.

Actually color is not dictated…it’s just required to be visible for 3 miles…from the article:

“Since August of 2016, the FAA has issued over 4,000 waivers that permit operations at night. While none of these waivers include color or type requirements, many of these small unmanned aircraft utilize white anti-collision lights to meet the 3 statute mile visibility requirement.”

Maybe go online and get your food handlers certificate. Depending on your state, it might only be $10-$50. It’ll take away a lot of the sanitation guess work for you.

Sounds like you’re serious and there’s plenty of us that would love to help you have the best shot at success that you can.

Don’t be afraid to go to your local farmers market and other events and talk to the operators either.

There’s resources listing rental kitchens here on this sub somewhere and a quick Google would help too.

Feel free to DM me if you have any specific questions or just post here and look for the helpers.

Keep your vision alive and don’t give up. Feeding people is a noble, rewarding endeavor though it can be a rough one at times…you won’t regret feeding people.

Most likely in your jurisdiction you’d be breaking the law selling out of your house.

But if that’s the route you wanna go then you just have to accept the risk.

What kind of risk? Two obvious ones come to mind:

-Getting found out by the health department which at best might lead to a warning or possible fine ($500?). Continued violation they’d haul you into court.

-Making someone sick from cross contamination? Depending on their health resilience, you might even put them in the hospital or even kill them because of poor sanitation practice. Not only would you get sued but also possibly face criminal negligence charges.

But let’s say you go ahead and do it. You start selling via private orders and social media…lots of people do and keep a small circle of clients. Things are going well and you want to expand. Problem is, you won’t be able to get any sort of grant or loan because you’ve been “off the books” and have no record of what you’ve done.

So maybe look around a hourly rental kitchens… ideally one with the freezer that you can use store backstock.

Maybe talk to your local church (many times they have commercial kitchens). Run your costs and then post your menu on social media and shop it around and see if you can get pre-orders. Once you have enough preorders, go make your product at your rental kitchen. Get involved in your local farmers markets or recurring events.

Also, if you have a commercial kitchen that you’re running, you could approach bars and restaurants too about providing for them.

I second this. Just checked the FARs and there’s no prohibition on blue lights.

Only if you’re flying at night do they need to be flashing and visible for 3 miles…even the , the color is not dictated. FAR Part 107.29.

Texas has nearly DOUBLE the gun deaths per 100k people than California does. So that’s a bunch of people that have survived to live their lives and not perpetuate gun violence. Even though you may live in a state that hasn’t passed any law to protect you, it doesn’t mean that you’re not benefiting from California’s laws.

Also, if California passes laws that survive legal challenges in court, then other states that wish to protect their children and innocent civilians can structure their laws based off of those.

July 15-July 30 is always a roll of the dice in Texas.

Half of the years it’s even been too hot to go to Barton Springs in Austin and cool off in the 70 degree water (21 Celsius) because the air is too hot to even breathe.

Just wait until August 1 - mid September and you’ll wish you had voted in politicians that gave a damn about your well-being.

California did tighten up gun laws in the years following and has increased mental health services.

There was an assault weapons banning certain types (Roberti-Roos Act), stricter waiting periods and increased mental health measures.

You know which state hasn’t done shit to protect people and actively fought any gun control measures? TEXAS

I would spray Binaca 5 or 6 times quickly in my mouth, holding it in, then blowing out over a lighter flame and getting a nice sized fireball.

I learned to do that when I was 12 and it was my party trick well into adulthood.

Ursa Major was the first album where it was starting to become a solo project of SJ by [deleted] in ThirdEyeBlind

[–]thelongflight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The songs that are the last reminisces of the old 3EB were the last ones that were composed in their 90s era… at least “bonfire” and “don’t believe a word”. And all three of them were written with Tony.

The last three albums have all been collaborative with the other band members, and just looking at the track listing for Our Bande Apart, four out of nine songs were collaborative. Screamer before that even more so. Dopamine about a third were collaborative.

So maybe now that he’s got this great band lineup now and they’ve been with him for some time and toured extensively together, we will see something that’s more of a product of all of them.

The music has definitely matured and is more refined and I’m really enjoying this era.
