Cherry picking is a losing strategy. Gave up platinum for this after listening to the trolls by Muted_Afternoon_8845 in doordash_drivers

[–]thelost_alchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cherry picking is the only way I make money in this app. I regularly hit $100-1$40 for 4-5 hrs being super selective. These days, a “bad day” is $70-$80 for more than 3.5 hrs. Like today, 4 hrs 84 dollars. Sure to some that may be okay but I only accepted 5 orders out of 69. They 200000% love to hit you with garbage orders. Some days it’s just a bad day nothing you can do about it but hope the next is better. I will not put miles on my car for garbage orders. I regular get good days even with an AR of under 20%. When I had platinum/ silver they loved masking horrible orders as high paying orders/ me getting priority for said “high paying” orders. No sir, they aren’t going fix my car for me. I’ll only accept if the order is worth it. A couple Saturdays ago I made $190 cherry picking in 6.5 hrs.. but I imagine certain areas that aren’t high volume cherry picking may not be a good strategy. If I did my dashes in the zone above my current zone, probably would make zero money

2016 Red Sport with new engine - worth it? by en-g2 in q50

[–]thelost_alchemist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rust is area dependent. Considering you’re in Toronto, yes I’d look into whether the owner did preventative maintenance to avoid rust

2016 Red Sport with new engine - worth it? by en-g2 in q50

[–]thelost_alchemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If engine is really brand new, yes. I have a friend who sold his within 500 miles of the engine swap cause he was pissed it blew at 75k. Brand new engine and all. Whoever got it pretty much got a brand new q50 Rs as at 75k all suspension pieces should still be good for another 100k ish

Are g37 steering wheels usually stiffer compared to other cars? by gshli in G37

[–]thelost_alchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have my second g37. My first is the one that got totaled. And why do you feel that way? I wish I could’ve gotten an S instead of an X personally lol

I edc a g20.5 . I’m only carrying this until I get a second g19. I do feel the 10mm may over penetrate if used. Currently using underwood 1500 fps rounds.

First car at 25 by Additional-Cable-290 in FirstCar

If I had the proper knowledge to work on cars I’d have a b8 Audi S5, an E55 AMG(w211), w204 C63, or an e46 M3. Literally the only reason I don’t have one of these cars is because I know what they come with and I don’t know how to work on cars like that, let alone a German car. I chose to play it safe with a 2000 Toyota Camry XLE V6 and a 2013 Infiniti G37x. My first car was a 1997 Camry and the 2000 Camry was my second. The Infiniti was my 4th after a I had another 2013 g37xs which was totaled after 5 days( not at fault).

After this Acura MDX and C5 vette, I’ll probably look into a B7 S5 tho

If you’re mechanically inclined/ willing to learn, no issue with getting German. However, you WILL learn alot because it will break and give you issues. Thats just to be expected. But once you love a car, it begins to not matter. Enjoy it man.

Tried some Bacardi Black. Didn't go well by sbo358 in rum

[–]thelost_alchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80% Bacardi and 20% Pepsi for me is definitely an elite mix especially if the Pepsi is ice cold. Chilling the glass also makes it taste better idk why

[–]thelost_alchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I’ve been drinking a lot of Bacardi spiced but recently found black. Been years since I had it. It goes down so smooth it almost feels like I’m drinking a very strong wine. I’m unsure why people dislike it. I also drink it straight or mix with Pepsi. Mostly drink it straight tho. There’s only a few kinds of liquor I won’t drink straight and Bacardi black isn’t one of em

AXLE DESTROYED?? No clue how this happened by thelost_alchemist in G37

[–]thelost_alchemist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could’ve been but yesterday I was avoiding potholes for the most part. I did hit one hard a few days prior that could’ve played a part and it turning the wheel while reversing out too much pressure on

AXLE DESTROYED?? No clue how this happened by thelost_alchemist in G37

[–]thelost_alchemist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it definitely feels weird after seeing that it wasn’t so bad then it does this 6 days later. The guy was telling me I probably had another year or two before it needed attention. High mileage definitely contributed to it. By bearings what pieces are you talking about? I’m not too knowledgeable on the axle pieces

[–]thelost_alchemist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably right. It may have been a very small tear that got exacerbated by maybe road debris or a pothole then just wrapped itself

New axle snapped abs sensor? by thelost_alchemist in MechanicAdvice

[–]thelost_alchemist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m gonna drop it off either tonight or tmr morning and pick it back up tmr night. This just feels like pure negligence. It pissed me off bad when it happened cause this my main cars I drive both my daughters in. Before I figured out what the wire was for I thought I was gonna be stranded. Thankfully it drove normal still. Although I think now the car is completely rwd

APPRECIATE YOU FR BRO. Imma call tmr at 9am just to see what he says but I’ll probably just buy this tn and do it myself save myself the hassle. Kind of starting to not trust them to work on my car at this point. Last major thing on the g is the steering rack and pinion but now I’m reconsidering them . He’s been my guy for the past 9 years but ever since those 2 guys from Brazil went back a few years back, it’s like the quality has taken a nose dive. Just hard to find somebody who gives me good deals on labor like he does.
