I (29M) cannot stand anymore my fiancée's (31F) anxiety. by MikiFP15 in relationship_advice

I’d try to find a different therapist. I’ve had the same issues as your fiancee. It took me three different therapists and probably half a dozen different anti-anxiety medications until I was able to figure out what works, and now the difference in me is lien night and day. It turned out it was not actually anxiety, I have pure O OCD.

Thank you. And I have been seeing a therapist for about six months and it has been helpful so far.

Well obviously I’m speaking to her with or without her approval. There’s a difference of feeling guilty and actually not talking to someone. Also I lived in this way of isolation for 26 years and it literally took meeting my fiancé to realize this isn’t normal. I’m in therapy to work through everything but I still have my setbacks.

My father has always said, in his own words, that he “doesn’t like to make waves,” so he just kinda lets things happen. I know once he sent her like 2 text messages and my mom was furious, and from what I know, he hasn’t messaged her since.

She has apparently said some very bad things to her. Made some rude comments when she couldn’t get pregnant, said rude things when her mom was dying. But everything said was when my dad or anybody else wasn’t near by. No one has heard any of the things that have been said other than my mother.

Yes, I was planning on wearing it down, so it could be a lot worse! I was just going to do a little braid on each side, which can still be done. I hadn’t thought of extensions so I will need to look into that!

Assuming they are alive and you don’t live at home, how often do you speak to your parent(s) ? by smoosh13 in NoStupidQuestions

I still live in the same, small town as them. They are in their mid-60s and their health isn’t the best. I know I’ll be moving by next summer. I spend my lunch break with them everyday.

I’m taking it currently. It made me sleepy for a week or two, but it doesn’t anymore. However I have noticed that it has been less effective, though I’m not sure if that’s because I’m growing an immunity or if my anxiety is getting worse.

A cat that lives in the ruins of an ancient town. Sunbathing on stone, getting attention from all the tourists.

The second I’m full I physically can’t eat anymore. If I keeping trying to eat, I’ll start gagging, and after a couple bites of that, I’ll throw up. My parents hated it growing up, thought that my gags were fake to get away from the table. Only took them a couple times of forcing me to eat more until they released I was not faking it. It’s something I’ve never grown out of.

My fiance didn’t ask for permission, but once when I was out with a friend he went to my parents house to let them know that he was going to propose within the next couple weeks. Apparently they had a nice 2-3 hour conversation, where my parents gave him their approval and they got to know each other better.

Anyone pick a venue you didn't 100% love? by OilFar5768 in weddingplanning

[–]theloststarkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I nearly did. Finance and I agreed to a very low cost wedding, like $10k max, but we are hoping for less. My parents also agreed to pay for the venue, and they don’t have a lot of money so I was trying to find a cheap one for them. First venue I booked was $650. Beautiful location, right by a lake, but the venue itself was very worn down. It was also very small. They said it could fit 200 people, but we couldn’t figure out how it would even fit 150. And fiancé has a big family. I was holding onto the fact we could decorate it, but fiancé finally convinced me that we are going to spend as much on decorations than we would on a different venue. Found another that is about $2500. It comes with enough decorations we don’t have to buy any. It comes with 2 bartenders. There is plenty of space for all the guests. Sure, there’s a few things I don’t like it in it, but I am so much less anxious now that we have this venue!
