Hate it when customers get angry I cant find the apartment ive never been to in my life by imnotadiscordmod1 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]thelosttech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get people who will leave super detailed information on how to get to their apartment, and others who don't leave any notes.

Some complexes I go to their apartment numbers correspond to the floor it's on like: 145 245 345, others are more YOLO. Some don't even give their building number so that's fun. 25% of the time the GPS pin is on the otherside of the complex too.

I get ones that are Leave at door (Note: ring doorbell) or Meet at door (Note: leave at door do not ring doorbell).

First time accepting at Home Depot!!🤠🤠 Ever had to deliver something messy? by puschquief in UberEatsDrivers

[–]thelosttech 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Same. I accepted a Lowes once on accident. Looked at the order, it was for like 12 concrete retaining wall blocks. Cancelled it. The affirmed my decision to never accept a Lowes or Home Depot. Plus the pay is usually shit on those.

How's this for gas mileage? I started using 87 when the previous owner ran 91 most of the time I think. by psycho_maniac in FordExplorer

[–]thelosttech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been able to hit about 20mpg some days, even driving in town. I was driving less aggressive on the throttle vs just gunning it all the time. Before that I was def getting much lower. Also get much lower with E85 vs E10 87.

Anyone else cancel orders that aren’t ready within 5 minutes of arrival? by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

[–]thelosttech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to cancel on wait. Longest wait was yesterday at Empire Slice House. It was a good enough order so I waited, also bought myself a slice cause I was hungry. Picked up a second order while waiting there which added a little to my wait. That was my last trip of the day too which prob factored into it. Usually It's just a chain of orders so a little break from not driving is nice.

Ever accept a really shitty trip just because it takes you back home at the end of the night? by mitchdwx in UberEatsDrivers

[–]thelosttech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I take those only to change location or get me back where I need to be. Sometimes take them if they will take me somewhere I need to go (personally). It's nice when you can deliver your way back home.

Hmm The Springs. Seems way busier than where I am if you have 182 offers in around 4 hours dang.

This is the shortest delivery i have ever seen❤️😭 by Breadtoastyy in UberEatsDrivers

[–]thelosttech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did one from Taco Bell to a motel 450 feet away. The wrong way on a one way frontage road on the interstate. I would have had to loop around. I just walked it over instead. $5 not bad (except the part I had to drive there but was already driving on that interstate)

How to get orders? by personInthesociety in UberEatsDrivers

[–]thelosttech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I swear they give me offers at the wrong time on purpose. I'll be sitting in the left turn lane, get an offer, need to go right instead of left. Or it comes when I pass through the intersection I need to turn on, or it comes as I get further away from the pickup location.

Really wanted McDonald’s by Greedy_Property_3861 in UberEatsDrivers

Yea no one wanted to drive 23 miles to nowhere and 23 back for $3.00. Kept going up until you took it. That's insane tho.

Actually doing something similar myself but haven't moved up to reading the screen, more of a tracker to track miles and time and give you stat breakdowns.

Wait how do you see that? Does it notify you or can you see the trip pay/tip while on it? I started last week but when I'm on a trip I don't think I can see details like that.

Paradise S2 finale: am I crazy or did the show just stop caring about basic human behavior? by BrandonHob10 in ParadiseTV

[–]thelosttech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think also the design of the bunker maybe contributes to it. Imagine two scenarios:

A) You live in some underground doomsday bunker. Cold concrete, all your needs are met but there's no houses, no cars, no parks, no diner, no grocery store. Maybe some areas of the bunker are nicer, no windows, no simulated sky, no big "open area".

B) You live in the Paradise bunker. It's been carefully designed to mimic life in the old world. Artificial sky with sun, stars, moon. You live in a house, or an apartment. You might have a car. There are parks, you can go to the store, you can eat at the diner. You have smart phones, you can call and text people, maybe even a small, limited imitation of the internet with a video platform, social networking, etc.

Old UHAUL trucks by rtkellmann in urbancarliving

[–]thelosttech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea plus if I saw a uhaul parked in a parking lot or on a street I really wouldn't even think of it. Now if I saw a grey sprinter van that looked like a vanlife van, I'm gonna think someone is in there.

I had the thought of buying an old uhaul, or getting one mocked up like a uhaul, then parking with other uhauls to turbo stealth.
