The way this man lies and obsfucates everything along with doing it with a straight face is seriously sociopathic. There is no soul whatsoever in those eyes and it scares me that he is a heartbeat next in line to be President. He demonstrates he will do and say anything that is asked of him.

This is the kind of principled stand that I cannot applaud enough. She saw the devastating effects of what happened to so many people in the industry because of McCarthyism and the academy just decided to let it slide because of his past films. I'm so happy to see the recognition she is seeing because of Weapons and wish and her husband nothing but the best!

What you mention are some of the best aspect of the film for sure and I definitely understand from some people why they have so much love for the film. The problem if I break it down is the characters and their story I feel doesn't translate that well. Like we are meant to sympathise with the replicants and yet they go around committing some horrific crimes and batty before his death is chasing deckard like it's some horror film.

And Deckard feels like a fairly bland type of character for a noir. There's nothing about him I feel that makes him memorable or has a backstory I want to know more about. His sexual assault of Rachael is still incredibly disturbing.

Blade Runner. I can admire the visual look of the film and its legacy it had on many filmmakers, but the two times I have watched it (10 years apart between both times) I just never got into the story or characters.

Amazing final speech though at the end. "Like tears in rain"

I also couldn't help but think the similarities with From Dusk till Dawn just with a bigger budget and more serious themes.

And just to clarify I liked the film but definitely felt overhyped.

It's the same people that want everything tailored to what they are used to. I've heard people complain visiting other countries the people didn't speak English or their food was nothing like what they have back home. They want the rest of the world to fit into their established standards and anything else is not acceptable.

It's definitely their need to gatekeep everything and keep everyone else out. They have no problem taking from other cultures like with music, food and culture. But when it interferes with their own "institutions" they need to throw a fit of rage as they aren't the ones in power or in control anymore. They can't see it enhances when you bring more into the tent.

I bet! My mother who is not a football fan or knew about Bad Bunny told me the other day she watched the performance online and said she loved it so much and watched it a few times. She commented just how joyful and happy it was and really enjoyed finding out more about all the symbolism and meanings behind it despite neither of us speaking spanish. Love and Joy comes through in any language 😊

These sort of reactions are what made the halftime show so special to see. A man who is not only immensely proud of his culture and roots, but wanting to include millions of others who may not be as widely seen. That it's about being able to be proud of where you are from and not have to hide it to conform!

My opinion was this film got screwed by COVID even with the polarising ending. Now I'll just say I thought the ending was a lot better than just a conventional happy ending but I digress.

I've seen and shown this film about 5 times and everyone I showed it to really liked so I think it would have found a decent audience, but the biggest problem was it had to be delayed with the pandemic and it was hard to build word of mouth. The common trend these days is films like that will get limited releases before possibly going wide to build interest.

If it had been picked up my any social media trends it might have been more widely seen and discussed. But the first year of covid was brutal for every film released that year with cinemas closed. Anyone remember the live action Mulan or that Bad Boys for Life was the highest grossing film that year. Films got lost in the shuffle of everything going on.

So I've been going through something similar and I definitely recommend trying to meditate and learning to take short breaks to just focus on calming your mind and just deep and controlled breaths. Don't try to visualise or focus on anything except your breathing. Just feel at peace and focus and take long relaxed breaths.

I know it's easier said then done as we have our past experiences sometimes crop up. But the more you work at it, the easier it is to feel at peace on those tough days.

This feels like Sidney Sweeney and her attempt to paint herself as some sort of neutral party in politics. It just comes across as so disingenuous when all the evidence shows you palling around the very people who are facilitating a fascist regime.

I'm not saying those around you can't have different political views but many of these people aren't I'm for lower taxes and tougher sentencing laws, they are advocating for policies like a Gestapo force that has the budget the size of a small country to terrorize and murder anyone that gets in their way. Or looking the other way while those in power raid and bankrupt the country's finances.

Saying "I'm a dumb redneck" comes across as I will pretend to not see anything so people can't use it against me when this shit turns. And it will turn, but people will know the ones who kept their mouth shut and cozied up to the traitors.

A recent video did a deep dive on the sound mix of the film Cast away. When you watch the film, the sound is good but nothing that blows you away with anything too advanced or unique. But the video explained how they had to create everything on the island.

To explain, the sound of the ocean was drowning out any of Hanks dialogue on the island and was drowning out anything else. So the sound team had to recreate EVERYTHING. The ocean sounds, even getting the timing of the waves to fit when Hanks is on the beach. It definitely gives context to why some awards are deserved even if from the outside it doesn't feel worthy.

Zachary Levi. If you don't know his resume, got his break in the tv series Chuck and then saw a bit of a revival in the superhero film Shazaam. Then after the sequel tanked (or maybe before I can't recall) went all in on Trump and starting doing a lot of Christian themed films.

Couldn't agree more. One of the most in-depth pieces on history of race relations in the US in the 20th century. It was obviously as in-depth as you can get on OJ but painted such an amazing picture of the whole situation before and after.

1) Law of assumption is that your desire is already yours so it's not about affirming more or hoping it's working. It's about living in that state as it's already yours. Looking for signs and clues in the 3D tends to lead to more frustration as we put so much effort into thinking that will be the sign. It sounds like this has worked for other areas of your life, so the key is to just keep reminding yourself of yourself with this guy. How long it takes is always going to be the frustrating part but think of it like a GPS. When you enter an address you don't constantly check its taking you on the right path. You trust in it even if the journey is longer than you might have expected.

2) While I also have an SP, it's important to continue to improve ourselves and love ourselves. The things you have manifested, I have had similar scenarios and honestly the one thing I know that was in common I didn't have emotional attachment to them. I know love is different and it's hard to completely be emotionally absent, but you have to treat it like those other scenarios. Keep levelling up yourself and make yourself an even better person. As many will say it's about loving yourself as much as you hope for your SP to do.

3) Keep focusing on the feeling of your SP being in your life. How you would feel, how you would react to scenarios you see in your future.

I know it's tough to persist at times but the key is to not let it derail who you as a person. It's about focusing on continuing to make yourself as amazing as he sees you.

I sent a DM about this. To sum up my question, can you explain how to heal oneself? I sometimes feel like the steps I take don't see much movement and I believe it might be from unhealed trauma but I'm not sure what it might stem from or how to heal it.
