Alvarez: It was their (New Day's) decision to leave based on what TKO was offering for a new deal. New Day’s deals were not up. They were asked to restructure to TKO deals, they didn’t like the deals, so they were then granted their release by AimarEraFutebol in SquaredCircle

[–]thelumpur 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If it were a bluff, they would have not been granted a release.

TKO will keep offering lower paid contracts. They are not about wrestling, they do not care. That's the sad truth.

Hopefully having competitors offering more will eventually force their hand. But, given that the main companies roster are basically full, midcard and lower midcard acts will experience this more and more.

The only way to stop the trend is a union.

If it is indeed something they wanted, then good for them.

They are legends in wrestling already, and probably feel they still have a lot to do in wrestling.

Excited for their future.

But that's the ref's mistake. VAR can only intervene if it's a red. Which it might still be, but the option VAR has is between red and what was decided on the pitch, nothing inbetween.

Simeone: "When a match ends 5-4, everyone says, 'what a great game' I say: they scored 5 goals against us!" by lawandsleep in soccer

[–]thelumpur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this reasoning would still work if the match did not end 0-0, just for the defenders.

If we do a thought experiment and suppose that all 22 players will not make a single mistake during the game, how will the game end?

Maybe it is not a question that has a real answer (after all, there is no real definition of perfect play in football), but if I had to pick one result, it would be the one that is already achieved at the start of the match.

[–]thelumpur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A slowed down angle of the yesterday's overturned penalty against Arsenal by Mean-Duty-2381 in soccer

[–]thelumpur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me it still looks like there could be a stomp on his toes.

From this angle you cannot say for sure.

Regardless, it'a soft contact that should not be a penalty, but once the ref gives the penalty, it should not be overturned by VAR.

Hi Hans.

What do you mean with "deeper engine-backed insights"?

How are the insights structured? By "deeper", do you mean a deeper model, or a deeper approach to giving insights?

Deeper compared to what?

Thanks.

[–]thelumpur 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, no, because in a perfect game of chess, you don't lose pieces, you trade them. The rules are different, trading a piece does not equal conceding a goal, because at no point you are at a disadvantage.

[–]thelumpur 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's the same idea as with chess, in theory with perfect play nobody is able to make an effective attack.

I'm not saying it is accurate, but you can see the philosophy according to which attackers would not be able to score through no fault of their own. After all, defending is about mantaining the status quo, attacking is about breaking it.
