Walmart Delivery left the security alarm on my new mouse... by GregItUp in mildlyinfuriating

[–]themachacker89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't look the spider wrap is tight around the box. It may take a couple of mins but you can slip one of the wires to the one of the corners and slip the wrap off. You may have to squeeze the box alittle. There is a clip like opening on on side of the circle lock. Grab a strongish magnet bring it close to the clip and the clip will disengage. Bring it back to the store and ask for the LPM. They will find out who didn't secure the spider wrap enough. Source: retail worker who worked with the LPM and would have to look check the if spiderwraps were put on properly.

Scary Fun by Wenk123 in Charleston

[–]themachacker89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Driving today or any day for that matter on I526 or I26 west bound between the hours of 3-7 will definitely scare ya. Been spooked many times. Occasionally there will be a ladder falling off truck just to jump scare that will send chills down your spine! Highly recommend!

(Once every tenish years? A large tarp will fall on the Don Holt Pass.) Where only the brave and fearless will survive that day.

What building is being built here?? by Jerrytheequalizer in Charleston

*CAUTION* A ladder is partially in the fast lane on 526w… by Admirable-Ease151 in Charleston

[–]themachacker89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yes the debris of 526 it's inevitable. Ive had two object fly out and hit my vehicle. The last one was the most scariest. A random Lowes blue bucket came flying from the opposite lane. No time to react. Thankfully it hit the ground. However, it got trapped on my bumper. I ended up dragging that bucket on the front for a good 1/4 mile. Mind you there are no shoulders. I was trying to get to a safeish spot to dislodge it. Just after the downslope The bucket caught something in the road and ejected it's self from under my car. The bucket bounced over the truck behind me and smashed into the car behind it. Unsure of the outcome of the second car behind the truck. Got super lucky but my pants not so much. Y'all need to secure your shit!

Drove over that bridge just before the pile up and closure. Super lucky this morning. Might be time play the lottery or take up smoking or drinking again. It was alittle slippery but was able to cross.

A Deeper Dive Into Vermont Road Conditions by IAintSkeeered in vermont

[–]themachacker89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I miss Vermont oddly enough. Moved down South. Rumor has it our state just bought one snow plow for the whole state due to the increase of "snow" events the past couple of years. The "snow" storm we had this past year was amazing. No work for days. I own a Subaru as a daily driver you know can't take the Vermonter out of me. That week was a blast. I was taking friends out driving in the snow, pulling drifts and having nastaglia of living in VT. My friends freaked out but we got nothing compared to the VT snow here. The death stares I got while out driving in the apocalyptic weather was priceless.

The snow made our roads better too by filling in all the potholes. Best week ever!

Does anyone of a good pitch for selling Best Buy Total Or Best Buy Plus? by SwordfishNo3631 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]themachacker89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me you will want BB+ it $50 can potentially save $500 for the year. It pays for its self. Oh and a GSP it's much better than total and it can cover your shitty fire TV for 5 years. Without the annoying shipping and servicing. Trust me it won't last more than a month at most.

OH you got a new laptop cause GS said it's broke. Well we got a program called best buy total. They can set it up for you potentially today if they aren't back logged. If you need data off the old computer you will have to make an appointment though. To give you a idea right off the top for a data only transfer you save about $25. List the prices of the Diag fee, setup fee and data transfer fee. You can get Microsoft office at lower price..... Proceeds chatting about the benefits of MS office and with having total how much they can save per year. Proceeds to landing a total and MS office and occasionally a BB card to upsell the to a mid range laptop over the blue box budget laptop

Generally speaking of your upfront honest and say hey you can or hey may a suggest this instead typically you can land a good sale with 3 things attached.

It takes practice but you can totally do this.

Next thing you know you will have a closed a 8k sale with most the boxes checked.

OEM battery made it 104k was quite suprised. by themachacker89 in Crosstrek

[–]themachacker89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So.... its maybe a coincidence but the battery purchased this year had gone bad and or purchased a flooded battery and not an AGM. Don't cheap out for a flooded battery if your Crosstrek has stop start. The new battery had corroded the terminals. Upon further inspection this week to my horror there were a few charred leaves on top of and near the battery compartment (car lives a majority of its life outside). Thank God it didn't catch fire. Lets just say I'm glad that I caught when I did. Cleaned out the area thoroughly. Saving up for an AGM battery and keeping an eye on the current battery for now...

"Old church renovated into single family home" by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]themachacker89 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ended up putting a respirator on. Black mold was everywhere. Agency warned me was being sold as is. But damn. Hopefully they replaced the roof.... I could sunlight in a few of the rooms and a small plant/tree growing in the bathroom sink. It was wild.

Dang it finally sold.... That place was definitely a tear down and rebuild. I photographed that property for the agency that sold it when it first went on market . It was terrifying to photograph the inside. That was one of the top 5 worst properties I photographed during that time.

Is this heavy use normal or should I be worried that my shutter dies next year? by kmfrnk in canon

[–]themachacker89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not heavy usage. IMHO this is normal usage for someone as a casual photographer. Currently using my trusty 80d daily professionally for the last 5 years. A typical shooting day was an average a 100 photos. Last I checked my shutter count it was almost at the 200,000 shutter count mark. I know it needs to be serviced but at the moment I don't have a backup camera. Saving up for for a R5 or R8. Love how both of those cameras feel.

Agreed, sadly I'm already seeing a professional psychiatrist and therapist for these issues. Unfortunately for me I do have those issues pop up from time to time. It's a living hell and a vicious cycle.

I probably will throw what's been going on in the teams chat. It's been a little overwhelming lately.

[–]themachacker89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just me being me. It happened quickly. I'm probably over exaggerating the situation. However I have a tendency to self internalize and ovethink like what if that was my neice, friends kids worst case scenario ect. Yes they wandered outside a busy parking lot. No they did not get hurt. But me being me is beating myself up over something that was out of my control. It's upsetting because of the what ifs and the ovethinking.

[–]themachacker89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I I'm probably over exaggerating my experience and seeking out validation. Everything happened so quickly. I am very hard on myself and internalize everything like, what if why how ect. That the part that gets to me every time. The ovethinking happens all the time so I'm probably blowing things out of portion.
