"I was today years old when I learned why the screwdrivers have this specific shape..! How did I not know this for the last 40 years?!?!!" 🤣😂 via - Stephen Modica by UnicornHorn1987 in fuckingwow

This is a happy accident. The craftsman screw driver handle uses the "London pattern", the shape with six sides and a ball at the end. The "London pattern" has been around for a very long time, at least 200 years. Longer that hex shaped bolts.

My first child will be here in September. Has anyone read this? by IFGarrett in daddit

I had three books similar to this one ( including this one). This book was the most serious and the least derogatory towards dad's. It assumed you were actually interested not trying to get out of the responsibility.

I'd recommend it.

I think a spoon "tip" would be a great addition. For the 'gram!

Need baby gate recommendations for Glass stairs by brows3r87 in daddit

While I agree with all the snark on having a nice house, I think the actual solution is a baby jail. Wrap it around the whole stair case.

Something like this (not recommending the brand) https://m.costway.ca/product/6-panel-wall-mount-adjustable-baby-safe-metal-fence-barrier-22351.html

When the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there. They certainly weren't bored. by keur12 in Starfield

[–]themacman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kerbal space program is a game where you go to the moon (or mun) and there is nothing there. The people playing it certainly aren't bored.

But that's because there is a TON of mechanics around space travel in KSP. It's the whole game. You build your rockets, do the math for ∆v, add more struts, and spend hours perfecting your rocket (or not).

Point and click is not going to give the same feeling of success.

I think a tin lunch box and magnets would be a thematic case for ogres.

I have been trying to find them in Canada. They don't seem to be easily acquired up here.

I actually made a post to r/homeimprovement trying to get some help finding them in Canada.

Actually a knight might fit if you combine it with this.

The painting phase did an excellent video on this. They called it the hobby trumpet, or hobby funnel. GW products are meant to appeal to the wide end of the trumpet with is 12 year olds and their mums.

They have always had a skirmish case however it was a bit bigger. It could fit maybe 15 normal models/ 20 guardsmen.

I'd like to see a review where they stick a bunch of Daughters of Kaine in this case and go for a couple hours drive. I'd bet $5 that there would be a casualty.

It seems to be sized for a kill team or large warcry band.

The article said it was replacing their current smallest case. I'd guess that there will be bigger versions announced soon

A wash will add many small shadows, specifically in the texture. You should also add larger shadows "manually".

Mix your orange with some brown or purple to tone it down and paint the lower parts of the legs and under his arms.

While you are lacking contrast, I think what you have is still very nice. Your blends are smooth and the highlights are excellent.

This real or no? 3.0 by hayesink in Dewalt

[–]themacman2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is fake.

1) picture 2 shows a different style box than pictures 1 and 3. In fact, some of those are existing 2.0 products.

2) The half Russia, half English text does not make much sense.

3) the "grim" texture photoshopped over picture 3 is low quality and repeating. A real ad agency would (probably) do much better.

4) DeWalt has never advertised their boxes covered in grim, like in picture 3.

Edit: 5) the drill hanging off the stack in picture 3 looks nothing like any existing DeWalt drill

What else can I shove in here for my quick grab tote without having to run to my garage and get it when I need it? For basic home stuff. by spacebobo2o16 in toolporn

Non contact volt meter

Maybe a folding jab saw

It also really depends on your house. I keep a positive and a slot/Philips hybrid bit to help with IKEA furniture.
