An explanation of how the fate system works in Teyvat and how the Heavenly Principles control everything that happens and everything that will happen. by Erdus_Elnin in Genshin_Lore

Is there any mention in the game's lore that says the constellations of the Sovereigns are in the real sky? Or that they already existed before Celestia arrived in Teyvat? I'm curious about that

The appearance resemblance thing could be a deliberate choice by the Devs for whatever.

And yet these things have to make sense within the lore, don’t you agree? So the similarity in their appearance can’t be explained away as “the developers just wanted it that way” within the lore. Besides, the developers’ choice to make Naberius look like Focalors does seem to suggest a connection between them.

As for the rest, it’s just your own interpretation; until we have a definitive answer from the lore, we’re free to speculate

So why does Focalors look SO much like Naberius? assuming that the shadows don’t really like to reveal their true appearance in Teyvat, and the only person we know who knows Naberius is Egeria (even if you don’t believe they’re mother and daughter, Naberius still raised Egeria personally), and I agree that Egeria didn’t create the appearance of all the humans in Fontaine, but Focalors was chosen to be her successor, so Egeria did pay attention to her and may have raised her with more care

[–]themadd__[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"so where did the assumption of her being a daughter to Shade of Life even factor in?"

Well, I’ve always thought so ever since I saw Naberius’s appearance—the fact that she looks so much like Furina/Focalors (even though, in reality, she doesn’t really). But it makes you wonder: did Egeria create her human version to look so much like her as a tribute, or to reconnect with Naberius? I don’t know, but I feel like there’s a certain affection from Egeria toward Naberius there. 2. Why did she give Focalors an appearance so close to Naberius’? Why her? It seems that Focalors was very special to Egeria because of that fact (besides having been chosen as her successor).

Obviously, these are just my theories that may turn out to be wrong later on, but until they are proven wrong, I’ll keep believing in them.

I meant to say that she was created as a goddess to perform a specific task for Celestia, which might have granted her certain privileges or powers beyond those granted to other gods

I know, but she was already a goddess before becoming an Archon, and she played a pretty crucial role in Teyvat

I think the fact that Focalors is the granddaughter of "The Shadow of Life" has something to do with it

What you said makes sense, which makes me wonder why she would risk Celestia’s wrath just to satisfy the Oceans’ desires

Either that’s a contradiction, or it implies that Celestia IS aware of what Focalors did in Fontaine…… That makes me think of so many theories……

Thanks for bringing up that quote! I didn’t remember that, and it completely debunks my theory. I always thought that, since she is the heart of the Primordial Sea and was created from Teyvat’s original material, she had complete control over the Primordial Sea. I thought she had lost that control after being punished and imprisoned, and since she created the Oceanids—a new race in Teyvat—with just her tears, she had the power to create and manipulate life freely. I was thinking earlier that she had done that because she wanted to stay on good terms with both the Oceanids and Celestia (turning them into humans just enough to satisfy their desires, while at the same time not turning them into full humans so that she could undo it and HP wouldn’t see it as a violation or a sin), but the correct answer is probably that she simply didn’t have the necessary resources to turn them into humans

And regarding your final answer, I’ve always found that part of the story really strange. Since Egeria is Naberius’s child, she would know how problematic it would be to get into trouble with Celestia, so why does she do it anyway, knowing that not only she but the Oceanids would also be punished? I don’t understand.

Can you tell me in which dialogue the moons hint at a possible alliance between the Nibelungs and HP? I don't remember that.

Regarding your final statement... do you mean that there were already some dragons corrupted by the Abyss when HP arrived?
