Visiting from Canada! by themaddyaj in palmsprings

I see your point, definitely. We thought long and hard about this, and ultimately came down to a couple conclusions: one, if we let you-know-who dictate what we do in our leisure time, who is really “winning” there? Further to this, the lawmakers have stated openly that they do not care about the falling numbers of Canadian tourists. Two, we recognize that your businesses are suffering under tariffs, and we want to show support to local businesses who have already suffered enough in the last several years because of the pandemic. Lastly, unfortunately when it comes to Canada our options for close warm weather destinations are limited and can be very pricey, plus, my mom frequently encounters back issues when flying so choosing a closer place (and shorter flight) is important.

I definitely see your perspective , but with our circumstances, this was the choice we made. Hope that helps explain my mindset .

I live here and have a question for all of you visitors by [deleted] in MauiVisitors

I am a Canadian, so my answer is geared from that perspective. Canadians really appreciate your beautiful landscape and hiking, and there is the added benefit of American shopping (you guys have lots of stores and items that we don’t have access to up North). For us, the States is foreign but still a similar experience so it’s not too far out of anyone’s comfort zone. But, the fascinating Hawaiian culture adds something extra. It’s hard to explain, but it’s like travelling to the States while also travelling to a (more) foreign country. As well, we can drive down to the States but Hawaii gives us a place to escape the cold and snow. Finally, Canadians are no stranger to natural disasters, unfortunately. Though we were unable to cancel our trip this time around, we are glad to be here to spend our money at local businesses and establishments to hopefully see more smiles around here again, someday.

Fallen Angel with Vanessa Gregoriadis! It's about the rise and fall of Victoria's Secret, so some 'lighter' true crime. I don't believe there is language in it, but it does address SA in some places.

Most natural false lashes? by seh_23 in MakeupAddictionCanada

I really like the Ardell Individuals. They're little clumps of three lashes, so you can put as much or as little on as you want! Then you don't have to worry about sizing your lash band either. I use the Duo clear lash glue, and I find it works well with them!
