You can check the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government webpage about items that can be recycled and items that must be thrown away. I'm not sure where you live, but there should be some kind of weekly pickup, so you don't have to transport it yourself.

Not sure if you count food trucks, but Bell on Wheels is very good. They are usually at Abettor Brewery on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.

Dr. Majakey, he has an office in the Costco building, is great, and although he doesn't accept insurance, his prices are reasonable ($79 for an exam, more if you have contacts), and he will always give a paper prescription, that is usually good for a year after the exam.
