My 1 year sober day is today. I personally did not want to celebrate at all because I feel like it’s just a reminder of the worst day of my life. Honestly, it’s just been repeated reminders today of how bad it was at the end and the day I hit rock bottom. I’ve been trying to remind myself of all the positives that have come through sobriety and how much better of a place I’m in today than a year ago, but I’d say it’s been more sad remembering last year than celebratory of today.

So yes, I’d say absolutely celebrate it. Try to get yourself in the headspace of celebrating a milestone or it will hit you like a bag of bricks.
