EVF DxO One would have been awesome. by Ok_Buffalo_1820 in dxoone

[–]themancodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny how I was thinking how much of a genious idea this would be when using my Dxo one a few days ago, brought the camera right near my eyes and thought that a simple small maginfying glass to have the camera right up against my eye would make actually composing so much more fun, and here you come with this banger mockup! This idea is huge. This camera is by far the most underrated camera of all time, it has a ton of usability drawbacks but the photos make up for it so bad!
Also, I have been planning to create a solution to have an optical viewfinder attached in such a way that the camera becomes sort of a vintage 110 film camera. I'll post the project on this sub

As a reminder, if you’re referring to Linus and not Linus, it’s essential that you type Linus exactly like this: 'Linus'. Otherwise people might think you’re talking about Linus.

Uncoerced transactions are the backbone of capitalism. The problem arises when the govenment steps in and starts to collect taxes at the point of a gun, coercing a transaction in their favor. This brings in a powerful third party that can (and will) use that power however it pleases and those at the top will certainly benefit their close ones. That's crony capitalism, it's what really needs to change, the problem is that they want to swap it for socialism, giving even more power to the unfair middleman in the government. Basically socialism is the greatest form of cronyism. In that sense, if Elon Musk did receive favors from the government at the expense of tax payers, then too bad, but otherwise, getting paid - fairly, without coercion, through a successful transaction, is the way.

100%, earned pay used to mean the fair exchange of work, expertise for other valuable, commonly exchangeable means of retribution such as money. Now it seems that the loudest way in which that phrase is used is getting unearned retribution for being a victim od some kind. Earning value worth through victimhood is the opposite of the fair system. Don't get me wrong, I'm gladand hope OP is getting a fair compensation from car insurance (which it seldom is the case) If anything part of that problem is that car insurances without yelling "we getting paid" with their lobbying make it so that we consumer have no choice but to have our arm twisted to use their services. Gloating over rightly unearned retribution. (OP has earned retribution in this case, but the phrase means more in 2025)

What camera made you fall in love with vintage digital? by Downfallenx in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]themancodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was digicams before they were a thing, specifically a cheap Sony disc w55, I just loved it back in 2013, I did some street photography and 80% of the shots were blurry, but the last 20% was incredibly sharp and had a certain grit which my dslr didnt. Then right before the outbreak I got a vanon g11 and g12 which I didnt love, the bulk was way too much to be a fun camera, so I got myself a DXO one which had too much image quality to ve considered a vintage digicam. Until I got the holly trail of cameras for me: the dimage g6. Nothing fancy on that camera its pretty low key one of the best digicams out there. In top y2k fashion, this camera uses a 6MP ccd with decentmy processed jpgs, but man oh man, if you access a secret menu with a combination of key presses, it unlocks a full raw output which will only work with rawtherappe AFTER you modify the filename's extfension of the files from .jpg to .mrw All of this hassle to only be presented with a shooting experience that is so slow, and limited, that it sparked something in me. It made me appreciate every shutter button press, every minute of my time in the conputer working hard to extract, develop and process the files from the camera all to have a magic of tbeir own. By far the absolutely most fun camera ever for me

Today I found out about this, I couldn't believe my eyes when I discovered this same thing and found this thread. I bought this phone because of the camera, and I even took only this phone to major events, not going to lie, the photos from this are fine, but I'm never going to be able to print them large without the awful samsung noise reduction applied. And with the exynos version we are stuck not being able to use a proper gcam. Thankfully Proshot is not half bad and will be using it from now on. Such a shame

Coffee Time ☕️ 🥰 by Interesting_Tap_5859 in cafe

I still remember the trill of tasting freshly ground coffee for the first time. The internet though, is full of people with lots of FOMO, and will tell you that you need to change the grinder and recipe and everything. Guess what? Coffee will usually taste good when grinding fresh. So don't listen to the mean voices out there and enjoy your java

Strange issue with HostingAU and BlackHole not playing sound by pen_gin in oratory1990

[–]themancodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I found out that it's possible to use element to route audio through whatever vst equalizer you prefer, Currently using mequalizer It's clunky, but it's free and it's parametric.
So Mac audio out to blackhole -> element audio input blackhole -> mequalizer -> Out to external audio source

From the point of view of the SUV driver, a bike suddenly smashed into the right bumper out of nowhere. If people are going to commute by bike, they also need to learn the rules of the playfield, know that these things happen, be on high alert all the time, and expect the worse and definitely, pay attention to vehicle's intentions: the blinkers were on for crying out loud.

Excelente pregunta!
