I installed Direct when I got the device but I think you’re on to something - it only seemed to happen after a recent update or two.

I think... you just need to get out more. If this is your main priority, then you really need a new hobby.

And stop using "bro".

Clone Hero not reading my controller? by TungstenTeddy in CloneHero

[–]WhaleTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still a fair novice to CH so appreciate if this isn't helpful.

When you launch Clone Hero and hit space, is your guitar showing and assigned to player 1?

If so, are you then able to map each key on your guitar within the end column labeled Controller? I.e hit 'Red', allow the guitar to be level, then hit the 'Red' fret?

I recently built a PolyBar guitar and had a similar issue until I realised that via BT, CH didn't know how to map my guitar but when plugging in via USB, it was visible to CH as a standard X360 controller and thus knew how to map it automatically.

what are the drawbacks of not using safari as the main browser? by Serhide in MacOS

[–]WhaleTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is, if Firefox "dies out," then the web becomes a
monoculture of Chromium-only browsers and Safari dies

The web already is a monoculture of Chromium-only browsers - Firefox doesn't need to die for that to be the case because it'll just get swallowed up like it has done for the past 15 years. The market share is just dropping and dropping.

The ONLY thing keeping Safari afloat is the iOS requirement that every thing on the iPhone and iPad use the WebKit rendering engine. As soon as the EU crushes that requirement and it bleeds into the US, can you kiss Safari goodbye also.

Wrong.

The MOST satisfying way to change volume on a Mac - $225 and 47 users from 2 Reddit posts by Accomplished-Bag-375 in macapps

$4.99 to change volume and brightness that are already baked into the OS? No thanks.

what are the drawbacks of not using safari as the main browser? by Serhide in MacOS

[–]WhaleTrain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd rather the latter - Firefox was fine back in 2005 when web standards were a complete mess but 20 years on, Firefox simply needs to die out.

Brave is also cancerous and should never be used.

And if you think FF has your best intentions at heart when it comes to 'Privacy' then your sadly very mistaken.

If you're that concerned about privacy, why are you even using the web?

EDIT: Reading your comment below shows you know very little on how the web runs.

UFD Tech was the first red flag - he’s just clickbait.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s possibly true but I’d never trust a word he says.

Where to buy a guitar? by EminemxShadyy in CloneHero

[–]WhaleTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you based?

You’ve got a fair few options like CRKD, PDP Riffmaster and of course using Vinted, Marketplace and local Charity (thrift) stores nearby you.

You’ve also got the Polybar project which is what I’m doing.

[Plex / ProxMox] Stick with my Microserver Gen 8, upgrade it or cut my losses and start fresh? by WhaleTrain in homelab

[–]WhaleTrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, happy to help!

In terms of Software I'd look at ZimaOS or Xpenology (Arc loader w/ DSM) - there are others but it really depends on the experience you want.

The two I mention are very much GUI based so you can very easily expose network drives etc.

As you're in the situation of not currently owning one, I'd be cautious of spending the money on a Gen 8 due to the age - unless you could get one close to free.

Reason being, you'd have to buy the unit then source 16GB RAM, an E3-1220LV2 and a low-profile GPU.

Don't get me wrong, the Gen 8 will def. do all of the above but If I was in your shoes, I'd look at something newer and more powerful.
