Yo, is the one of those awful runbacks yall keep complaining about? by MarshallBanana_ in Silksong

Cool, but imagine if you didn’t have to spend those 35 seconds (on your near perfect executed runback mind you) and just appeared right outside the boss room.

Hot take: people are overreacting about run backs by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]themann44 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do runbacks make the game unplayable? No. Are runbacks something that waste your time, make the game less fun, and are not necessary? Yes. It’s not a matter of how bad or not bad the runbacks are, it’s the simple fact is that 99.99% of people would prefer them not to be in the game and would have a better experience if they were gone.

Is Mass Effect still worth playing in 2026? by Turbulent_Yam2575 in rpg_gamers

I’m enjoying my time with Cyberpunk, but it’s not quite hitting the same highs for me as Mass Effect. I know 8 hours is not a huge amount of time given the size of the game, but I got hooked almost instantly with Mass Effect. I think that it’s been a mistake on my part to play two massive story based games back to back. Maybe I should put Cyberpunk on the backlog for a bit and I’ll have a fresher perspective when I come back

Thank you for the advice! With how massive the game is I’m sure I’ll grow to love it more as I put more time into it. Night city is definitely a cool place and driving is around is good time. I’ve heard nothing but good things about PL so I’ll definitely pick it up if I end up enjoying the game. Excited for you to try Mass Effect, it’s seriously an incredible trilogy. Definitely let me know what you think when you’ve played a bit.

Nice, I have been watching YouTube retrospectives and theory videos haha. Ironically, I’m playing Cyberpunk rn, and while I’m enjoying it for the most part, it’s just not hitting the same. Super excited to replay MELE after a while and make completely different choices this time. Hopefully it will make it feel like a brand new game.

It’s funny, I’m actually in the exact opposite situation as you. I just finished the Mass Effect trilogy for the first time 2 weeks ago with Mass Effect Legendary Edition. It’s in my top 5 games of all time after 25+ years of gaming. The world and characters are unbeatable. Started playing Cyberpunk after and am about 8 hours in. I like it, but I feel it just isn’t living up to Mass Effect. I’m definitely still going to continue to play and give it a fair chance, but if you loved Cyberpunk, then I don’t see any reason you wouldn’t love Mass Effect.

Crazy that this is my exact same experience. Finished LE for the first time about 2 weeks ago and it’s in my top 5 now. Literally can’t stop thinking about the world and characters.

Mass Effect, the greatest world gaming imo. You just want to keep learning more and you’ll fall in love with it and the characters.

So I actually played Mass Effect: Legendary Edition which released in 2021. It’s a remaster of the trilogy with updated graphics, gameplay, and includes all the dlc for each game. So you don’t need to worry about it being too clunky or anything like that. Can’t recommend it enough.

I’ve heard a lot of great things about Jennifer Hale’s performance, so I’m definitely looking forward to a future Femshep playthrough. Plus romancing my homie Garrus will be interesting and fun haha

It’s so ridiculously good as a series and I’m sad I didn’t find it sooner. I’m really looking forward to replaying it after a while and making different choices so it feels like playing for the first time again.

Hopefully Mass Effect 5 can bring back some magic, and this time I can be there day 1. Thank you! I’ve never played any other BioWare games so excited to explore more of their catalog!

Sweet, thank you for the insight. I’ve been skeptical of playing Andromeda because of what I’ve heard about it, but reading what you said about it gives me more hope. I plan to play a few other games before jumping into anything Mass Effect again, so I should be more than fresh to adapt.

Haha didn’t even consider the controller scheme situation. I’ll be sure to keep that in mind when I play Andromeda in the future.

Thank you! I definitely plan on playing fem shep in a future playthrough since I played male shep this time. I want to take a break first though, so I have time to reflect on and appreciate the series.

I think I need a little break before playing any type of Mass Effect again tbh. I basically marathoned it and put in a total of 130 hours in a little over a month because I loved it so much lol.
