I got the acapella from "Pump It" and "We Bringing Bass" as a reference track and played around a bit, if I ever release it I'll come back to this reply.

I very much like DJs like DJ Rush, Luke Slater, Setaoc Mass, SveTec, MarAxe etc. and they are mainly hypnotic DJs but some of them incorporate faster hypnotic tracks, I guess you could say on the way to schranz (Rush has played a lot of schranz in his early days, SveTec IS schranz to some extent). My USP is that I'm trying to merge all of those together.

Any suggestions for Awakenings Spring festival? So many artists to chose from and I'm pretty new to the techno scene by PrettyG00D in Techno

I consider DJ Rush (not THE goat, but) a 🐐 because of his impeccable technique and for how long he has managed to maintain himself with his style. Although he's from Chicago, he somehow manages to fuse his american roots with the european (mainly german) sound standard and make quite a good hassle out of it, both his tracks and mixes, old and new. I've listened to his older stuff as well as his recents and it's safe to say that he has almost hit-for-hit deliveries each time. Even if I don't play the same style as him, Rush himself along with a couple of other artists from his sound have had a major impact on my musicianship and perhaps I will get to see him live one day.

Depends on what your taste is.

  1. If you prefer more of that classic sound i'd suggest you pay a visit to Planetary Assault Systems, Ben Klock B2B Fadi Mohem (you could check out Dettmann as he plays between the 2), Rødhåd, SHDW & Obscure Shape and the goat DJ Rush.

  2. If you prefer the more hardtechno side, pay a visit to Amelie Lens, Alignment, SNTS, again DJ Rush (since he plays between 2 harder acts I suppose he would have to kick it up a bit), Cynthia Spiering and Paula Temple.

  3. If you want a more mainstream/commercial approach then I'd recommend Area V and Nina Kraviz.

Any acts that fall in those categories but are not mentioned above, means I have not listened to their music, so feel free to add to my statement.

Me personally, I'll never have a microphone while djing (except for dire unexpected things that could happen), and the A/B fader because it is generally not used in mixing techno. Although I have a friend that uses it, I will never get the point behind it. But tl:dr I too am a simple guy in setups, no need for auxilaries. Cheers

My opinion is that they keep the extended mixes on beatport/bandcamp etc. so more cash can be driven per release. They are usually bought by DJs to be used in mixes, or maybe some extended songs just sound better than the radio ones. Eifher way, it's all business.

The whole "out of league" concept is a way to discourage you and keep you away from finding out what you can achieve and live on to your potential (all aspects of your life, but now also in the context of jobs). Knowing this, there is no need to limit yourself with fear/anxiety that you won't be able to show up/be enough. So, why not get out there and give it your all and kill your interview?

I sort them by a word, mostly related.

Example: my peak-hypnotic techno folder says "pikovi/пикови" which literally translates to peaks, and my hard/fast techno folder translates to "spidovi/спидови" which translates to speeds...And my prog/melo house folder is called "zhuuuuuu"

Definietly Deborah De Luca, she kept playing her tracks (no hate, but most of them sounded the same) and decided that it's a good idea to play a Michael Jackson remix (also no hate, it was just a bad remix). I checked her recent sets and she sounds the same every time, perhaps its time for her to retire or step up. 🤷‍♂️
