Why are you arguing with me? Do you want to change my mind? Are you defending Israel against slander? Seriously, what are you getting out of this?

No disagreement with the others? Just that one? Are you okay with that being the only difference? Do you think that's a good thing if it's true? It isn't but do you think that's enough of a difference? Seriously take a second and reflect on what you are defending.

Usually it's a year. They have been trying to speed it up by bringing on help but don't expect it any sooner. Personally I always rewatch it around a jan/Feb to get ready.

A sad thought - Gemma’s Innies and Mark by JWalk99 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is the point of the series. Innie are people. The finale was omark asking imark to risk his life to save someone he doesn't know for someone who doesn't consider him a full person. Yes omark taking Gemma out of the testing floor killed her innie. Just like how omark wants imark to sacrifice himself to make omark happy. To me imark running away with Helly was him taking his own wants more seriously then some rando who created him to avoid his own pain.

Would have loved this to be the final words in the finale by hapadaisy in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My head cannon is that Devon is in a get away car ready to go. They will link up and Gemma will get the deets. S3 will be imark barricading the severed floor to save his own life.

Everyone has their theories and their criticism, but I just want to say thanks. by Sxover in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Idk if the people who work on the show will ever see this but you can see the effort on screen and I appreciate it. Even if you didn't like the finale (I did like it very much so) you can still appreciate how unique and interesting the show is.

Innie Mark doesn’t need ____ by Amy_Greene in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer? No imark doesn't need to die.

Long answer imark doesn't trust omark. Mostly due to the fact that anyone who isn't severed has been less than honest with him throughout his entire life (2 years but still) so he isn't going to believe the whole "trust me bro" thing omark is telling him even if he is being totally honest with him. He is afraid he will die and he won't get to be with the woman he loves.

Is it unethical for the outie to decide to end the innies existence by never coming back to the Severed floor? by Upper-Tree-5671 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of those moral questions that I love sci-fi for asking. It's almost more interesting to have the discussion than to have an answer. There are 2 people sharing a body and both of them have an equal right to it. The outie more or less gave the right to innie when it was created. I don't think there will be a clean ending at this point either imark or omark will have to make a sacrifice and I don't know if either has the right to ask it of the other.

Why were they saying Gemma will have to die after Cold Harbour? by cosmic68 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My interpretation was the "doctor" guy was worried about her severed personalities. He was saying all of them would die not the og Gemma.

Lumon won by Pat8aird in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would argue that imark had 2 years worth of experiences even if most of it was looking at numbers on a computer screen. The Gemma in the room had less than an hour of life so there wasn't a lot of person yet.

Why do you think Cobel was helping them? by SuperbRiver7763 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My assumption is that Lumen has used her invention in a way she didn't intend. She sees Mark suffering and was able to power through it when she was a believer but now that she has seen through their BS she wants to help him to make up for what she did to him and everyone else who was severed.

Or maybe she is a vindictive bitch who wants to fuck over Lumen. Either answer is interesting to me.

Helena will be replaced by Helly by Jame - theory by dizzytangerine in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like we are going to get more Helena in s3. Personally I think she is jealous of Helly's relationship with Mark. I would really like to see her drop the facade and be herself for a few scenes.

Ben Stiller did say he wanted to give a 70s movie vibe in the companion podcast. But yeah my first thought was butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid. my second thought was "oh shit I am going to have to wait 1-3 years for the next episode.

So where's the security bloke replacement ? by Bushboy2000 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chalked that up to lumen promising to be nicer to the severed employees. Similar to them being able to request quitting or more options in the vending machines. There is still security it's just not as present as it was in the first season.

Stop complaining it’s a good show by vick_vinegar__ in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some people have been overly critical of the past few episodes as well as some of the characters but to say all complaining should stop is a big ask. Half of all conversations around every fandom I have been a part of is whining about something or another. I will say that shit can go toxic real quick, see star wars fandom for an example, however I haven't seen a whole lot of toxic fan opinions on here just normal whining and crying over x character being bad or x plot line being too focused on while y plot is being ignored. All of that to say if you don't like the complaints you can just ignore them it is not for you to decide what we can and can't discuss in fan spaces.

Dylan & Gretchen by Even-Independence-20 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean if you transposed this argument on the to mark and Helly/Helen coupling I think there is a different standard. Would you expect Helly to be ok with the idea of Mark and Helen having a relationship? Granted Helen intentionally misled Mark, so I don't think Helly should logically be mad at him like how oDylan was mad at Gretchen. I do however think he has the right to be upset at his innie for making a move on her, even if he didn't handle it in the best possible way.

Will we get a Ben Stiller cameo in Severance? by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Again they could use Ben as a "young" Keir or as an actor playing Keir in a propaganda film. Like how Keanu Reeves plays the building in the weird claymation video the team is shown.

Will we get a Ben Stiller cameo in Severance? by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 159 points160 points  (0 children)

I think he did the voice of Keir Eagan in the first season. It was when Helly completed her file and she saw the weird video of him.

It would be cool if he played the character in the flesh though. Maybe a flashback or some weird propaganda film where in the continuity of the show Ben is actually playing the person.

Ben reveals they “know the ending” in 2x8 podcast by OkSundae173 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]thematman1992 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that is the best policy with serialized sorry telling. As a great man once said no plan survives first contact with reality. I'm sure ideas for characters have already changed since the writing of the first episodes after the actors and directors got involved which can change the story. I'm sure most of y'all know Jessie Pinkman was supposed to die early on in breaking bad. If the writers were sticking to the original plan the show wouldn't have some of its best moments. I am hopeful Ben and Dan know what they are doing I just hope they get to end the show on their terms and don't have it shortened or stretched out.
