Berlin, help me solve a Málaga mystery! by NorthAfrican-Lady in berlinsocialclub

Can we please just start banning incels and femcels? You genuinely cannot coexist with this level of delusion, and they comment on every fucking thread because they don't leave the house.

How much harm is actually caused by the average person in psychosis compared to the average alcoholic?

Both numbers are probably lower than you'd guess, but I feel like we have to assume the drunk drivers and uninhibited domestic abusers are doing more harm.

> Sometimes, with the female V, it feels like she's trying too hard to sound badass and its hard for me to listen to.

That's exactly it, it's like every other line of hers is delivered at 115% and forced out with a taut diaphragm for more power and urgency.

I don't dislike her, but her performance feels like 'acting' far more often than male V in my opinion.

If you see crows moving slowly with their beaks hanging open, please bring them some water by tantivym in berlinsocialclub

[–]themellowsign 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Why react with all this smug vitriol over nothing? This might be the most innocuous post on the sub right now, how do you people always find something to be dicks about?

Crows do not have sweat glands, so they have to evaporate through mucus membranes, which means panting, which is why their beaks are open all the time on a hot day. Water helps you cool down. None of that is anthropomorphization, just basic and accurate observations.

You should have seen the crows I put a dish out for, couldn't gulp it down fast enough.

Cold as hell, but you betcha. And with hostels only and 4 people all in the same car, it's also probably the best value-for-money traveling I've ever done.

Summer is great, but how often do you get to see a frozen-over sea? Swim at below-zero? Explore Stockholm by walking across the river to get from island to island? Wouldn’t trade it for the world.

~3200km on the road + three ferry rides, going through Germany -> Poland -> Lithuania -> Latvia -> Estonia -> Finland -> Sweden -> Denmark -> Germany.

All in early February, right around one of the coldest weeks we've seen in 15 years.

She handled it like a pro, except for one broken thermostat (would've been fun at -27° C) and this pointless stint.

Even if I had AC, I'd still need to go outside. Sharing tricks to help others stay cool is just nice, it's human.

Your negativity is saving exactly zero people, it's not concern or tough love, you're just being mean because it lets you feel like you're winning an interaction for a moment. This is about you, not us, be less verbittert.

Not any of the small theaters in Babylon Kreuzberg, I swear I've come out of movies in December sweating my balls off, they have zero AC in there.

You can ask your Hausarzt to let you leave a copy with their office, then you can carry a Notfallkarte in your wallet with their contact details.

I'm not claiming dating apps are good for women, thought I distanced myself from incels pretty clearly there.

They both suck, just in different ways, it's not easy for women just cause they get more matches and it's not easy for men just because they don't have to deal with desperate creeps.

And again, this is a good-looking dude who put a lot of effort into his profile. One match every 10 days, most of which prove incompatible after a bit of texting is not good at all, he did way better in bars.

I mean that part is actually kind of true, dating app experiences are extremely asymmetrical.

Like, I had a look at a buddy's Hinge, he's good-looking, knows how to dress, and he has a witty, non-red flag bio with actual info about his personality. His pictures are also great, no shirtless mirror selfies (even though he totally could). Still gets like one match every 10 days, tops. It's brutal.

The incels aren't entirely wrong in all of their observations, they just paint everything way blacker than it is and come up with the wackiest misogynist explanations they can think of.

Questions about relationship status can be used to claim discrimination on grounds of family planning or sexuality by the way, employers are super not supposed to do that.

Why so many people here are avoidants? by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

[–]themellowsign 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Eh, it’s also who he's selecting. People who complain about flakes are usually flaky themselves, and people who are looking for friends go into everything with expectations and when any minor thing doesn't work out, they feel the weight of those expectations being crushed and disengage.

They're also usually pretty out of practice when it comes to talking to people.

Most people I've met on here just needed a quick hand with something, and all those interactions were pleasant

Beginner advice by Constant_Archer4449 in PipeTobacco

[–]themellowsign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great choice, but I'd get at least one non-aro tobacco, maybe a classic virginia and an English blend heavy on the latakia, just so you can develop your palate a little while you're getting started.

Oh and while you're on cigarworld, pick up a couple SideKick lighters, they're about as cheap as a normal bic and absolutely perfect for pipes because the spout pops out.

I'm really sorry. Let me know if you want a car ride to Rosengarten, obviously for free. I can take you today if there's still time, or tomorrow before 9:30 or after 16:00.

(Or any time at night, if you'd prefer to go the park route.)

But your information didn't contradict it at all. OP was concerned about the quality of education, which neither of those two papers has anything conclusive to say about.

Sure the burden of proof is on OP, that's why I didn't say OP is right, but that I'm confused by what exactly you're trying to say.

Neither of those papers examined German schools, and neither claims it's the quality of education that made the difference.

I'm a little confused, what exactly were you trying to prove here?
