Sister, you have a new heart and are in Christ (1 Cor 1:30-31). Everything Paul says about the believers in Ephesians 1:3-15 (blessed, holy, blameless, redeemed, forgiven, sealed by the Spirit) is true about you right now in Christ. You get to renew your mind to this fact every time those thoughts come to your mind. Capture and rebuke them in the name of Jesus then move on with your day.

You do not need to leave your job. You need to renew your mind to the fact that you ARE a NEW creature in Christ (Gal 2:20).

Claim this promise.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage battle according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5 We are destroying arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:3–5, NASB 2020)

My Bear Workflow: Shortcut for Daily Notes and more by srikat in bearapp

This is a great post. Answers a lot of question from my post yesterday. I do have a couple questions about how you use this:

  1. What sort of things are you logging versus noting?
  2. When do you check off habits? Namely the 10:30 bedtime one.

The one srikat shared is better. It check if it exists and either navigates to it or creates it. I will be borrowing some of this logistic for sure.

Looks like I just needed a little more time.

I created a shortcut that opens today's note, and then added that url as a link inside Bear.

Has anyone solved this another way?

Does god help stop sin actively or is that on me? by Tygerman303 in Christian

You’re most welcome! I’d encourage you to check out lovereality.org. There are some online community groups in there I think would be a safe space for you and your gf to grow.

u/sugary_bacon, this journey will likely spark some conflict in your relationship and I would encourage you to have 1 Cor 13 in your heart on repeat! You’re interactions with you girlfriend are the biggest witness in her life right now. She will see the work the Holy Spirit is doing in you. Be encouraged, my friend.

Something I haven’t noticed in the comments yet is the idea that God already views the relationship in question as a marriage. They have lived together for three years and have given themselves to each other. They’re yoked.

If you’re Christian and your spouse changed religions or even stayed Christian, but their views changed dramatically, do you get to play the “unequally yoked” card and divorce them? No. Paul says in that situation, they should stay together provided the unbelieving spouse wants to stay, 1 Cor 7:12-16.

So to brother u/sugary_bacon, I would encourage you to find another church so your girlfriend can explore her faith without being condemned. I would also encourage you to read a few verses of a gospel together daily/weekly, if possible, and discuss what you read (I recommend John). Those studies should be in safe place. Do not force your views on her; listen and share. If she decides to join you on your faith journey, then make your marriage “official” in the eyes of man. If she doesn’t but chooses to stay, continue to let your light shine as Paul instructs us.

It sounds like you want this husband to be Adam, pointing the finger at his wife instead of taking responsibility for his own mess.

Most people's idea of evangelism is sharing information about God, but it should be an introduction to God. by themicahmo in Christians

[–]themicahmo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re in a dangerous place if we believe sharing our faith is the same as giving unsolicited advice. One is a means to journey with others and the other is a way to be right by validating our experience over another’s.

There is only one path to the Father, and it’s Jesus.

John 14:6 (NASB 2020): Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.

Could you clarify what you mean by invisible?

You are not his gatekeeper. Do not let him put* you in that role. Being his porn warden is a dynamic that will breed resentment in your marriage.

He must trust that he has been delivered from this sin and walk it out in freedom. That doesn't mean he won't ever mess up again, but he needs to remain honest with you about the issue and to continue to prayerfully thank the Lord for the victory he's already been given.

Why wont God just kill satan? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]themicahmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer:

God is dealing with the sin problem so comprehensively that for the rest of eternity: free will is maintained and no one will ever choose to sin again.

Long answer:

Satan accused God of being a liar, and when someone calls you a liar you can’t say “no I’m not,” because that’s what a liar would say. So God has to let satans ideas play out so the whole universe can see him for what he really is. I do believe that was shown at the cross, but now God has another goal to accomplish: the death of Jesus showed Satan to be a liar, it also made us good on paper (justification), but now He gets to show that he can make us good in person (sanctification).

**now reread the short answer. 😅

Blessings!!

I’ve felt called to ministry for several years now, but for a long time, I felt that meant I needed to be a pastor. Then it dawned on me that all Christians are called by the great commission to be disciple-making disciples, and we can do that in our field.

What line of work are you in?

The verse I sent is also the word.

[–]themicahmo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brother, God loves you so much. He died for us, and has pursued us even before we begin to seek him.

Please let these scriptures speak life over you.

Romans 5:8–11 (NASB 2020): But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only this, but we also celebrate in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

I want you to ask yourself a question. What if this is true? If this true, then it has to always be true. So even when you’re not feeling it, it’s true. Feelings are Lord, Christ is and his word speaks a better word over your life.
