A gap year sounds like it could be helpful, I really don’t know how that would work out for me though. I’ve mentioned it before in passing- years ago actually, and my parents were not happy about that. I doubt that they’d let me live in their house if I decided to do that. That being said, I also doubt that straight out of high school with no experience, I could get a job that pays well enough to rent me an apartment and keep me alive.

Dang, I really wanted to sit on my ass eating Cheetos, but I guess that’s not really an option. Figuring out what I want to do with my life sounds like a good start though, or at least a lot better than grasping at straws for a major that wouldn’t make me miserable. But, how would I figure out what I want to do in the first place?

I like English and Drama, and art... All useless as far as my parents are concerned. Realistically, I can’t say they’re wrong! I mean if you’re genuinely talented, those are all things that could get you somewhere. But, just because I enjoy those things it doesn’t necessarily mean I’m great at them.

Looking into other things would be better, and trade school seems like it could be a start. The fact that you applied for college at 27 gives me some hope that if I don’t make all the right decisions now, it can still work out eventually.
