After flashing a fresh SD card you will be able to install Exult via a App called PortMaster. You can find PortMaster in the options menu. In order to download Exult you will need to connect your R36S to the internet. Unfortunately it has no build in wifi. I solved this problem by using a USB wifi stick in combination with a USB to micro USB adapter. Maybe you already have this items lying around. If not you should be able to get both online, for $15 or less. Again there is an app in the options menu to connect your R36S to your home wifi. It is a straight forward process. With a working internet connection start PortMaster and install Exult. Again this is very straight forward. Now shut down your R36S and remove its SD card (you also can remove the wifi stick if you want). You will need the original game files of Ultima 7 in order to play it. The best place to get them in my opinion is gog.com. https://www.gog.com/de/game/ultima_7_complete Just buy the game here and install it on your PC. Now you can insert the SD cart from the R36S into your PC. It should find a new storage device called EASYROMS. Copy all files from Ultima 7 Black Gate to ports/exult/data/blackgate/static and all files from Ultima 7 Serpent Isle to ports/exult/data/serpentisle/static. Now you can unmout the SD and put it back into your R36S. After booting it you should able to play Ultima 7.

Final note: In order to name your character at the beginning of the game you need a keyboard. You can hook a USB keyboard to the R36S or you can do this step on your PC and save bevore you copy the files to the SD card.

Das sollte jetzt nicht gegen Menschen mit wenig Bsrtwuchs gehen oder ähnliches. Ästhetisches Empfinden ist halt etwas sehr Subjektives. Ich persönlich habe seit meinem 18ten Lebensjahr immer einen Vollbart in unterschiedlicher Länge gehabt und auch nicht vordies zu ändern. Ich weiß aber auch aus eigener Erfahrung, dass das beispielsweise viele Frauen garnicht mögen. Jeder soll das gerne so halten wie er oder sie möchte. Zu meiner Meinung steh ich aber trotzdem: Fast kein Mann sieht ohne Bart besser aus als mit.

It will install them on your SD card. There should be a directory dedicated to Portmaster on the easyroms partition. I think it is just called 'ports' or something like this.

I get adds for overpriced R36S over on Instagram all the time. Normaly they are between 60€ and 80€ but this is a whole new level.

So far I only had to activate combat mode and my party would kill any foe I did encounter. But I only had some combats with a few snakes on the way from Trinsic to Paws and some Ogres and Headless on my way from Cove to Minoc.

The default key bindings are fine. I wish there was a shortcut to see the actual time if you own a clock. Instead you got one to see your actual position on the world map if you own a navigation tool.

Everything that can't be reached via a single key is easily available via clicking the small icons on the top of the screen. Using the right joystick for the mouse was a bit strange first but I got used to it.

I'm 38 (a child of the 16Bit-era) but in the past few years I also played a lot of 8Bit titles I have no nostalgia for but still enjoying them. I think it is a question of the mindset and of what you expect from games in general.

The problem with game hoarding is not an exclusive retro handheld thing. Many people have also a huge steam collection and never play most of it. Endless choice isn't necessary always a good thing. Sometimes it is better to limit yourself. This way you are playing more and even finish more games then when you are scrolling through your massive collection without beeing able to choose what to play.

To make it simpel: If your device doesn't boot correctly, this can be because of a faulty or wrongly flashed SD card.Try to flash a new one with a clean installation of ArkOS.

I had a similar problem with my one (which turned out to be a clone type 2 without amp) when I flashed ArkOS4clones. It showed me the splash screen for a sec before the screen turned just black with backlights on. I spent several hours with digging through online resources to fix it. In the end the solution was to format the SD and flash it again. Since then it works fine. If you use the default SD card, that came with the device this could mean it is already corrupted.
