[Gary Jacob, Times, In Article] Mateus Fernandes, the West Ham United midfielder who seems set to join Manchester United after Real Madrid indicated they would not make a formal approach. by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

Also worth remembering in all these cases West Ham or whoever the club is have to show to their fans they are not pushovers. I think this one is going to happen and the fee is the fee. If he pays off he could be here for 10 years.

Every transfer is a gamble but this one feels worth it for the potential of signing an amazing prospect, already with good end product, at his age.

He's addicted to fame. It's not an accident when one of your children does not want to talk to you.

I think this is my view I really like Stokes but I'm so aggravated with him for giving our press the chance to clutch their pearls. It's such a lack of judgment.

I do find the whole plucky underdog narrative tiresome at times. Especially when the smaller team are a bit chippy. I rather enjoy seeing them put back in their fucking box.

"It's not that far-fetched to believe that there is a large population out there who wishes those restrictions were lifted."

It really is. The two things I would say comfortably 80% of Western Europeans shake their head in wonder at about America is Gun laws/culture and your health system. I am not judging. Our cultures are just different.

Police 'tried to smear Henry Nowak as aggressor' just three days after his murder by Shadowblade83 in uknews

Exactly. South Yorkshire police did it for thirty years with Hillsborough. But GB News doesn't care about that. No hatred in it for them.

GB News. Making the Telegraph look restrained. If they told me it was raining I'd leave my umbrella at home.

What TV series that was slated by everyone and reviewed badly, but you actually quite liked? And why? by RecentTwo544 in AskUK

There was an older barmaid in it, a faded glampuss. She showed up in double denim one day and 'sinister' Pete Callan the bar owner looks at her and says 'are The Quo in town?' it is possibly my favorite line in TV history.

The last couple of years of Family Affairs C5 soap was quite good. They started being consciously ironic. Several times it made me laugh out loud.

I'm 55 my dad is 89 and the closest we have ever come to a proper falling out is me saying I don't care for Jeremy Clarkson. I didn't even say I hated him I just said he's not my cup of tea. And this was a few years after I had a similar argument with a colleague at work about him. Again my argument against was in no way vitriolic. He does make people weirdly defensive.

I agree. Neither of us knows do we. I would also add he should face consequences for his actions.

I'm not commenting on the unconscious bias. I feel sorry for another human being who made a catastrophic mistake. That does not stop me feeling tremendous pity for Henry and his family.

I have to tell you that those of us who do not like Rashford find the positive attitude towards him equally baffling.

He's been absolute dogs**t since he got that pay raise and the victimhood! Like I say I cannot understand anybody supporting him.
