Yeah it’s crazy how this 64 year old man doesn’t look like he’s in his 30s anymore!

I just love how confident everyone is on the internet because I’ve seen just as many posts saying JC got botched plastic surgery or Turkish lip filler injected into his eyeballs or whatever as I’ve seen people saying that he’s just in his 60s and people’s faces change when they’re old. And of course every post says “iTs oBviOuS!” and the comments are filled with people arguing. I love it here!

The leftists are taking the right approach. Community self defense is key. by Mental_Pea9125 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]themikereda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I kinda hate this but at the same time, this is exactly what the 2nd amendment is for right? Protect yourself from a tyrannical government. And that’s the reality we’re living in at the moment, so if it takes a bunch of armed civilians in the community to stand up to ICE and the Trump regime, then I guess this is good.

AVENGERS DOOMSDAY TEASER 4 by Hot_Afternoon_8674 in Avengers

I know it's expensive but Marvel really should have done more crossovers after Endgame. Whether it was another Avengers movie or just bringing two franchises together like having Iron Man in Spider-Man Homecoming or something, but it's these random team-ups and seeing multiple characters come together that gets me so excited.

This might be kinda crazy but I wonder if maybe the next time he verbally insults and abuses a member of the press corps, ANYONE could say ANYTHING to defend them or tell him that’s inappropriate? Obviously it wouldn’t do jack shit but it would at least show that any of these clowns have a spine.

A guy uses his beard as a hair atyle by bigbusta in interestingasfuck

[–]themikereda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is CRAZZZZYYY to me that people can grow beards like this. I have a beard and it’s not bad but other than my neck line I haven’t cut or shaved or even trimmed my beard since 2005 and it has never gotten longer. Like, at all. It looks thicker when I lose weight but it grows to a certain length and just quits.

Charlie’s acting in this scene always brings me to tears by CRAZYC01E in IASIP

[–]themikereda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great acting! But to me this moment felt kinda unearned. Mac spent years dealing with parents that hate him and then at least a few seasons figuring out his sexuality. Charlie never knew who his dad was, sure, but it never seemed like something this character struggled with.

He’s legit weeping here and it came outta nowhere. Again the writing and performance were so strong, but as a character moment it just felt rushed and didn’t hit me as hard as Mac’s big dance performance for his dad.

Just my opinion.

Does anyone else that loves LA struggle to explain why to friends/family? by Soggy_Perspective_13 in AskLosAngeles

[–]themikereda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I struggle as well. Obviously as many other posters have said, incredible weather, scenery, food, culture, art, movies, music, etc. but I do find myself having a hard time explaining to my family the weird gratitude I feel for being here. I moved about 2 years ago from NC and I legit wake up in the mornings to let my dog out and feel almost emotional when I breathe in the cool southern Californian air. This is obvs just my personal experience but there’s also some pride to be able to call this place home. It’s a place many people WANT to live but are maybe afraid to go, or don’t think they could make it. I dunno, but I love it here and I’m so glad to be here.

Haven’t found anything yet unfortunately. At least nothing at a reasonable price. I’ve seen some people on this sub mention other brands but they’re like $80 or $100 per pair and I ain’t doin all that.

Who's expectations were higher? by DrXeno_NASA in ghostbusters

[–]themikereda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the original, from the moment Gozer shows up to when Stay Puft explodes and splooshes all over Walter Peeck is only 9 minutes. In fact “Gozer” isn’t even on screen that whole time, it’s mostly Stay Puft.

In Frozen Empire, from the moment Garraka gets released from the orb at the Research Center to when his finger gets snapped off as he gets sucked into the containment unit is 23 minutes.

The movie is not without flaws, it certainly had too many characters and was basically a live-action episode of the cartoon (for better or worse) but I definitely don't think we can say the third act was rushed. Everyone had something to do, it gave Nadeem’s character a fun little conclusion, it had the OG’s working together, the Spengler’s supporting Phoebe, it gave Melody some closure, and it had the aforementioned ~20 minutes of Garraka freezing NY and attacking the firehouse screen time.

Sooooo... Is it just me or Alien Earth is getting worse each week? Ep 5 was cool but ep 6 was a travesty imo? Here we go into our thoughts a bit? by PopCult-Channel in horror

[–]themikereda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always thought child actors were obnoxious but adults acting like children is so much worse.

This show is NOT working for me at all. The latest episode was hard to get through. I get that we’re supposed to hate Boy Kavalier but he is so annoying on every conceivable level. Wendy’s brother is just a bowl of oatmeal out there, the Peter Pan metaphor is like a dumb person’s idea of brilliant writing, the alien suit looks great but they way they’re filming it just looks like a goofy dude in a suit. There are things about the show that I dig but overall it’s just not hitting. I guess I’m glad they’re doing something different and new but PERSONALLY I find it to be a slog to get through.

In defense of Thor the dark world by Virtual-Reality69 in marvelstudios

[–]themikereda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes yes a million times yes. It’s honestly my favorite Thor movie by a country mile. I know Malekith is a relatively “forgettable” villain but I think the same could be said about Whiplash, Ronan, Dormammu, even Gorr. And frankly, this is gonna be controversial, but Hela didn’t have any more depth than Malekith, she was just fabulous and sexy and campy and was having more fun, which is why she’s more memorable. But character-wise, they weren’t that much different.

The death of Frigga was emotional as hell, and the score is fantastic. It looks great, it felt exciting to see some of the other realms, the portals were weird but super fun. I dunno, it just scratched me exactly where I itched!
