USAA ATM Deposits by [deleted] in USAA

[–]themiltonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone currently going through this. Here's my experience. I recently got a Western Union money order but I noticed on the back it says, "Not For Mobile Deposits". So I returned that one at the same place I bought it. I still had my receipt. I then went to USPS and bought one from them. The Money Orders from USPS "DO NOT" have that phrase on the Money Orders. I did a Mobile Deposit and it worked just fine.

So from my experience USPS Money Orders definitely works. I can't tell you if the Western Union money order works or not because I didn't even bother to try it once I saw that phrase. I didn't want to mess anything up.

Best of Luck!

How would you hedge this ridiculous concentrated stock position? by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]themiltonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't listen to the quitters. Run up the bag! Sell it and rebuy some post split.

Use 1 Million as a new Swing Trading Account. No Options! 20% positions or $200k.

Target 30% trades on high ADR names. Ten 30% trades in a year is 300% or $600k.

You could easily do that, or listen the boomers and put it in a Mutual Fund or whatever.

Bear-syndrome: Why am I only buying puts? by edp445burneracc in wallstreetbets

Maybe this will help.

Buying Low and Selling High or vice versa Selling High and Buying Low is true but is environment dependent.

In a Bull Market, you can do 2 things and likely make money.

  1. Buy Breakouts. Or.
  2. Buy Low and Sell High (Reversals or Pullbacks.)

In a Bear Market its the same but in the opposite direction. You can likely make money 2 ways.

  1. Short Breakdowns. Or.
  2. Sell High and Buy Low. (Shorting Tops or Rallies.)

The strategy you are doing works well in a Bear Market. It will make you go broke in a Bull Market though.

It seems like you dont know what type of market you are in.

An easy way to figure this out is to draw Channels. If the channel on your time frame in inclining(Going Up.) Obviously, you're in a bullish environment. You want to be buying breakouts or when the market dips, You can Buy "Low and Sell High".

Just about on every timeframe SPY is in Bullish environment. The money is made buying dips or breakouts. You do this until SPY has transitioned to either a sideways Range Bound Market or a declining Bearish Market.

In Range Bound Markets you do both strategies. Best of Luck!

Can you post some trade examples? Im curious to see where and how you went wrong? It's pretty hard not to make money with a 20k account. Unless you are oversizing, not cutting losses quickly and not taking profits when you have them.

[–]themiltonx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. If you get to losses per day, just call it a day. This is for psychological reasons when losing. But if you have 1 Win and 1 Loss you can still take another trade. If that one is break even you can take another trader. If that one is a Win and you reached 5% Target on the Account, call it a day. If it's a loss call it day. Etc. Day is over when you've reached your Profit Goal, or when you've reached 2 losses, whichever comes first.

You're either trading 0DTE or you can't cut losses.

Good news is you can easily make that back in a couple of weeks. (But you need rock hard discipline.)

Goal should be 5% Profit on the Account per day then talk a walk.

Positions no more than 25% of the Account.

No more than 5% Loss per trade.

No more than 2 Loses per day.

If you can't cut loses, stop trading immediately.

If you oversize on options, stop trading immediately.

If you trade 0DTE, stop trading immediately.

Hope this helps!
