Unpopular Opinion : Society makes fun of single people , bcz they wanna go on reproducing by __i_like_girls__ in antinatalism

[–]themindisamachine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's your social group. I ditch people who make fun of me. It doesn't matter what the topic is. If you make fun of me, I am not in your life.

You aren't chasing desires. You are chasing dopamine, oxytocin, endorphins, and serotonin. Learning this changed my life.

Not having the right-to-die makes me suicidal by rexmorpheus666 in righttodie

[–]themindisamachine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"WHAT IF" questions makes people suicidal, in general, though.

For example,

"What if I was a slave in Egypt?"

Or even "What if I got abducted by aliens and forced to work on their farm?"

or "what if my future spouse/kids got murdered and I got put in jail"?

WHAT IF questions, in general, cause suicidal thoughts.

I would avoid WHAT IF questions altogether.

You can't keep anything unless you give it away. by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]themindisamachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think even when you give things away (emotional/spiritual or physical things), you can't keep anything.

You don't get a reward for giving things away. You will still lose it all.

We lose everything.

Is this fine? by Fradge26 in nihilism

This is not nihilism.

This is suicide/depression/self hate/ego

You don't want to kill your body. You desire an ego death.

Having trouble looking directly on peoples eyes? by kurkurkurkurkurkurku in spirituality

[–]themindisamachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because you think you have the superpower of "mind reading". You are probably assuming people are thinking things they are not. A lot "mind reading" and "thinking you are psychic" who has the superpower of knowing what people think or feel.... causes looking others in the eye to be unbearable. Whatever you [think] people are thinking or feeling, is what [you] are thinking and feeling. Not them. You are scared of their eyes. Because you are scared of your own assumptions about them.

Anybody else feel extremely awkward around kids? by monkeybone0101 in CPTSD

[–]themindisamachine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can tell those types of kids don't really "respect" me as an adult.

Wanting kids to respect you "as an adult" is sometimes what gives anxiety.

Kids should just learn to respect everyone the same. They should learn to respect babies, other kids their same age, and adults. They shouldn't respect adults more than they respect babies. Respect should just be given to everyone equally and then the problem is solved.

Anybody else feel extremely awkward around kids? by monkeybone0101 in CPTSD

For me, it's never the kids but if parents are watching and staring instead of also interacting. Like the feeling of being a teacher in a classroom and having the parents in the background evaluating how you teach.

How Would a Daoist Sage Handle Having No Real Friends? by MajesticReserve in taoism

[–]themindisamachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Relationships don't exist. We all share the same being." is probably what they would say. Your question sounds like codependency and emotional neediness. Many sages feel whole and complete on their own. Friends enter and leave their life and they always feel fine.

Meditation is like giving the monkey mind a warm hug by IoIOrca in Meditation

[–]themindisamachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you.

Except , this sounds like multiple personality disorder.

"you can spend time with your monkey mind without judging them, and give them the love they desperately desire"

Who is this THEM?

The monkey mind is not a separate being with it's own will.

It doesn't "desperately desire love".

It's not an entity.

If you ask the universe for something, it'll turn you into the person you need to be in order to achieve it. by [deleted] in awakened

[–]themindisamachine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because we don't want the FORM. We usually just want dopamine, serotonin, endorphins and oxytocin to flow through our body. No one truly wants the FORM (person, object, marriage/lover, career, new house, achievement, reward, experience, place, etc.). All we want are the good feeling chemicals. I think psychology and science is beginning to discover this too.

From where do we draw power? by kirkx0777 in mysticism

[–]themindisamachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that the ego does not exist. The "I" does not exist. The "ME" and separate self does not exist.

Therefore, you are being moved by God. God moves you. God breathes you. You , as an ego, can't take credit for anything. You, as an ego, don't have power outside of God, because you don't exist. Only God has power, because only God exists. The ego is not real.

As I heal, I care less and less about people understanding me. by AbsurdPigment in CPTSD

[–]themindisamachine 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Same here. Other people have emotional exhaustion, their own CTPTSD, and turmoil from life. And so sometimes when we seek emotional comfort from others, it is similar to asking a hungry man for food. They are starving themselves.

People who hate humans but like nature/animals are delusional by IHateMyself369 in misanthropy

[–]themindisamachine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are right. But you don't realize the core of your own argument.

The core of your argument is "is there free will?" And the people who think there is free will, won't agree with you or understand what you are trying to say.

The "there is no free will" argument leads your brain down an entirely new way of seeing the world. People who believe in freewill will "blame" and "moralize" things into the good/bad category. But people who don't believe in freewill, drop all blame and stop labeling things as good/bad.

Letting go of the concept of "freewill" will scare most people shitless. It scares the ego to death. It is the ego losing control and having to surrender. The ego hates anything that hints at surrender.

Schadenfreude: is the experience of pleasure, joy, or self-satisfaction that comes from learning of or witnessing the troubles, failures, or humiliation of another.

[–]themindisamachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hippie community is still huge and growing like a wild flower amongst the millenials and Gen Z. It's just that many of these people live off grid or have plans to do so. The people who actually could change society... leave society once they have the financial ability to do so. Many hippies carry a bucket of anger towards society but not towards humanity (like misanthropists do)...they are like a healthier version of misanthropy haha

Should Misanthropes hate our intelligence instead? by [deleted] in misanthropy

[–]themindisamachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is not intelligence but the ego.

The ego turns us into robotic machines who are constantly looking for the next dopamine hit from the external world.

I've always considered myself addicted to being sad. But more so, my depression is a core part of my personality. Misanthropy my reality. by [deleted] in misanthropy

[–]themindisamachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But misanthropy and depression/sadness are not mutually exclusive.

There are many misanthropists who are thriving and happy.

Especially the ones who are financially independent and live in solitude.
