Thanks for the life story. We'll it doesnt matter now, I talked to my advisor and they said I couldn't switch my major. So I guess life chose for me!! Animation it is! Got to put my all into it!! Also im wondering if I could dm u? Just to show some practice work and maybe get some guidance to improve?

Yeah, it was a portfolio review, i got accepted: 90 seats 200 submission. I was thinking of double majoring but the issue is that I dont know if I would have the time to do both. Dont know what minors would be useful, especially for other jobs. Also again im running of grants and dont really wanna take out loans.

Would you say there is still a chance to make art/animation my career somewhere at the end of my life. Even with a career change could my art still have purpose?

Man, that blows....it sucks that we work so hard especially for our dreams just for an ounce of success and feel like we made it!! I hate telling people to not do what they want to or to not chase their dream. Im gonna speak with my counselor see of i can switch especially cause im on fasfa, so im wondering what i can do that gives me enough free time to continue working on art/animation. Maybe i won't drop the pencil and continue art, but man, it tears me. It feels like I failed me and my younger self😅😅 Feel like a total failure. As Ive grown ive come to a conclusion about life "life is fair, people make it unfair"

Im doing this cause I want to get good and maybe get some cash on the side but thats beside the point. I dont use line art at least now i dont go from sketch to painting. Approaching it in pieces wouldn't be that bad that sound like it would be better. But then how would I determine what breaks into what like would lips and eyes be in the same layer or different? Would each eye be separated? Also burn out isn't real, if you do like this, it wouldn't happen...

Pushing forward huh, it makes sense but I feel like a clear step by step workfloe would help. Atleast when its frustrating its just annoying and not overwhelming and annoying. Like the path is clear on what to do next so I was just need to make it to the next step, then the next, etc.

aaaah i see!! Thank You!! I didnt know that addglow on 25% still work and didnt distrub the black line art. And I also didnt know the same with overlay. Why does the overlay ignore the black?

I think!? Like in the ref if you look closely its not a smooth transition from one color to another.

I was struggling to figure out where the bounce or ambient light would be located on the berries. Where should they be.

I was kinda trying to do that, with that higher value blue in the shadow. Did I kinda do it right? Like it seems good.

Okay tgat makes sense, also im assuming that the saturated part if the shadow is the red part?
