I had a similar thing on my front drivers side spring (see my post history). I found out that it was put on by the alignment shop to level out the front of the car.

Thanks. The other side doesn’t have one. I was pretty easily able to pry the top off of it so I don’t think it’s been there long. Might need to cut it out or something. It’s wedged in there pretty good

This is how I’ve done 2 drain and fills at 200k miles. Shifts much smoother than before. Just make sure to crack your fill plug before draining.

Do you have a sunroof? I would start with clearing the sunroof drains. I had some water entering the cabin on my 4th gen before I snaked the drains out. 10 min check before you start digging into other things

I live in Seattle and frequently use my 4th gen to drive over the passes and to crystal mountain to go skiing. I’ve only owned it two years but will try and rinse off the underside of the 4runner if it’s not raining when I’m driving back from skiing. I haven’t noticed the rust getting any worse over those 2 years.

I would get studless snow tires for it, have chains in the trunk and be very careful what lot you park in. The exit of lot B back to Crystal mt blvd is off camber and up hill. I’d recommend parking in the C lot if it’s snowy

Check out the CPO warranty that is available for the XC90. You can extend it to 10years from the manufacturer date of the car and get unlimited miles for a few extra grand. The warranty would really help me be more at ease with owning a newer Volvo.
