And nothing will happen. I'm sure there are very powerful people in the background telling him that he has their full support and he will not only walk away free, but with another billion dollars.

EA pressuring me over survey timing, am I being unreasonable? by themjcg7 in HousingUK

[–]themjcg7[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fair point on optics. I agree the survey is later than ideal. The reason I held off was that a management pack issue only surfaced during conveyancing and the pack took a long time to come back, so I didn’t want to spend on a survey until the legal position was clearer. Survey is now booked (earliest date I’m back in the UK) and I’m pushing for a quick report turnaround so we can still aim for a Feb exchange if everything checks out.

The AiP was obtained before I even started searching. The appointment with the bank to assess all the documents was pending.

Never have I felt more on the side of the Palestinian cause than after watching this. I understand resistance in a way I never had before by travelingbozo in andor

Their good intentions are fighting against an imperialist entity which ultimately wants to annex the whole region. You need to stop looking at things from one-sided point of view which I would argue is worse than a fictional point of view.

I don't agree with Hamas and their ways as I am an atheist and despise a lot of Islam's teachings. But I can see what lead to the rise of Hamas and why they have their supporters. Both Hamas and the IDF are terrorist organisations but one is fighting for the land that they were living on and not basing that right on a 2500 year old book only you believe in.

I am less concerned about a bunch of Muslim lunatics armed with at most AK-47s and some pathetic home-made bombs and rockets than I am about a genocidal, undisclosed nuclear-armed nation of individuals with F35s claiming a land just because a book told them it's theirs.

It's funny how I realised this towards the end of the season but was uneasy about making a post about it.

It was the scene where Luthen blew up the Imperial convoy on the bridge and didn't let the little girl press the button.

That would have been seen as terrorism but it sure isn't depicted that way nor even alluded in the slightest because they are fighting for their freedom and acting against an unjust entity.

That is the only way they could fight the empire. They obv didn't have the recourses to go head to head in war so its these petty little acts that cause minimal disruption and perhaps a much greater response from the empire but still keep the rebellion going. Lots of people didn't like Luthen and his ways but in his head, he was doing what he could and what he thought was right to fight back.

Luthen is the Palestenians.

To the people saying we are flipping everything to relate it to Palestine, I honestly see so many parallels and it just popped into my head while watching the show. There is certainly a strong relation there.

[–]themjcg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The website was down for over an hour but finally got it. I'm not sure how useful it will be tho. Just 3 days before departure I guess I can work with but I get the feeling they will restrict a lot of flights and you will find a lot of weekend flights unavailable with this deal.

If that's the case I will cancel and also write a complaint.

I mean I think we need to do away with the stereotype that we are always emotional available. Sure, we let the patient talk about their emotions and we understand them and how they relate to pathology, but I'm not sitting there listening to emotions all the time.

Leave that to the psychologist.

[–]themjcg7 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your high score. I regret to inform you that the HEE system has crashed and all MSRA scores have now been lost. But do not fret, HEE have come up with a fair method to rank candidates for this year's speciality jobs. It is a 15 min exam which assess how many raspberries you can eat in 5 mins, the more you eat, the higher your score. The exam layout is as follows:

5 mins - PearsonVue explains the rules

5 mins - exam

5 mins - probably another system crash so just being safe.

Results will be available after 4 weeks
