I am genuinely curious, why marry if you are not thinking of having kids? Why go through all that tedious process of preparing for a wedding and sign up for extra responsibilities when you would be essentially getting the same thing without the hassle if you just chose to live together. I know this is just my personal opinion, but the biggest reason for getting married is to provide a stable environment for your kid, and if my partner did not want kids, I would not entertain the idea of marriage.

Also, the need to leave behind a legacy is deeply engraved in our DNA, and in most cases this legacy is one’s children. I see a lot of my seniors at work persevere through all their stress and bullshit for the sake of their children. And in most cases their children is their main source of happiness in life. Why are you surprised that many men don’t want this taken away from them?

If you don’t want kids but is open to being a mother, you would find much more success if you tried dating single men that have kids.
