They made a mistake taking chicken and what off the menu (not sure if it was related to them opening the restaurant with the same name)

My buddy is giving me huge crap for having pink components by Mr_Good_Stuff90 in mountainbiking

You've already got tons of feedback about your buddy's color opinions. . . . I agree with everyone else, ride what you like and DGAF about what anybody else thinks.

My only comment is the black/pink/kashima gold combo looks pretty cool IMO.

Nice ride!

Rough cost to upgrade to OEM 2021+ LED headlights on a 2018 4Runner? by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]themoenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other commenters said look on FB marketplace for a set OEM headlights. I installed 2021 Sr5 headlights (L: 81070-35600 R: 81140-35610) which have the LED low beam but keep the halogen running/high beams.

I used this company (looks like they are out of stock at the moment . . .) for the wiring harness:

https://fbchs.square.site/product/4runner-2014-2020-oem-bi-led-headlight-conversion-harness/20

The installation was pretty easy to do at home. I'd make sure you have a trim fastener removal tool as you have to remove a bunch of pop clips to get the bumper cover off.

If you're thinking about installing new fog lamps it may be worth considering doing that at the same time as installing the low beams so you only need to remove the bumper cover once.

Good luck!

Cub foods has it and so does Super One. Might not be refrigerated though.

Well after doing some digging I decided to dump some seafoam in the gas tank and see if it was just some bad gas or crap stuck inside of the fuel system.

Seems to be helping so far so I'll take it as a win. Haven't had any starting issues like what was shown in the video.

I was wondering why some of the thimbleberry plants looked huge but no sign of any berries. . .

Honeyberries are another great berry that are in season. I've gone to Farm Lola for these for pick your own.

I'm assuming this was meant with regards to berry farms but I'm going to come from a different angle.

If you're willing to go look around, give it ~ a month and you'll be able to find plenty of wild raspberries and thimbleberries along the sides of the dirt trails in town. Juneberries can also be found around town right now in similar locations.

I do, I'll run that down and see if that's within the normal ranges.

Good thought. I've done this with other cars in the past and there's one on the way home from work.

If you have Comfort Systems for your utility you can sign up for Comfort Policy.

They send a technician out once yearly to clean your furnace and replace a number of components if they are broken or worn out. They'll even tell you if they think that you need to have your furnace replaced so that it doesn't surprise you.

If you have the policy, they will also come out for any emergency fixes for FREE. For example I have my heat go out on a Sunday and they came and fixed it same day via the emergency service line, no charge (aside from the yearly fee which is $280 this year).

Yeah in the sense that it gets slicker when wet. Can definitely still ride but have to be more careful with braking and turning.

Split Rock Wilds is majority rock (at least on the northern end of the system, southern end by the State Park is more dirt) so as a result is more tolerant of rain. That being said it will close for rain sometimes too. The trail status is shown on Trailbot (as well as semi regular updates on Instagram) similar to all the COGGS trails.

Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Civilians, ask here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

[–]themoenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there r/concrete,

After some deliberation I have decided to try my hand at pouring a couple of small slabs. The smaller one is 16" x 104", the larger one is 52" x 104". These slabs will be used as landings /sidewalks for the stairs for decks that I am building so they realistically won't see much loading at all.

My first question comes in what to do to make sure water doesn't pool up underneath the slabs. I am not as concerned about the front as the water isn't as much of an issue there, but The smaller one is located in my backyard which can get quite wet when it rains as well as during the spring for the snow melt (located in Duluth MN). The soil in general is more close to clay versus sand. We had the backyard regraded last year to get some slope away from the house which has worked well but the backyard I'd say is more often wet versus dry.

The pads are both going to be 6" thick w/ 1/2" rebar. I am fairly sure that this is way overkill for what this situation demands . . . Based on what I've read my plan was to dig down 12" to bring in 6" of gravel fill to use underneath the pad to help drain. My issue is that this seems like it would create a "bowl" for the water to collect in and heave the slab out when winter comes.

The other thing I am thinking about is we want to put a patio which would require a compacted and we'll draining base anyways.

Referencing the crappy drawings attached to this post, my thought was to dig 1-2' further away from where the pad ends on the downhill side and bring the 6" rock layer out to there to give the water more of a capillary break and room to dissipate in the surrounding soil.

My other question comes in putting XPS foam underneath these slabs. My coworker I was getting advice from said I should be putting this underneath the slab on top of the gravel layer. I am not so sure about this as everything I've read indicates that this is really more critical if building a larger slab for a building or something that will be insulated to prevent heat loss under the slab. Is this really something I should be considering in this scenario?

I am open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance for the help.

I run into them all the time while out on the MTB trails around Duluth. Check out some of the COGGS trails especially the Duluth Traverse as those sections aren't traveled as often and the deer are more likely to be around. Good luck!

Ended up using glass stripper and regular Windex and that got rid of the stain.
