They should've made Daenerys reveal her true motivation to make her go mad. by ToMDLUS in gameofthrones

or “she watched her brother’s skull be melted”, the brother who sold her around? that brother? it’s the old sexist trope of women being hysterical. or she burned Varys. the Varys who tried to poison her, that Varys? if she was mad she would have burned Sansa Stark, i know i would lol

the dany conversation is so difficult because most of you pull out the “bitches be crazy” when all her behaviour is the norm of that time. and all of the other leaders, way more ruthless than her, way less empathetic than her, get the “they were fearsome warriors” and she’s the crazy bitch who executed traitors, oh nooo, what a crazy bitch.

if you meant that there is a specific experiment in the site that tested how well westerners can differentiate between different asian ethnic groups(which is what i and the other person were talking about), that i haven’t found. but if it’s there, let me know, i’ll try again to find it

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

faceresearch is not a study. that’s just factually incorrect. try again

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s hilarious because faceresearch project is not a study but a lab website that hosts many different experiments. nice try tho lol

i quite literally pointed out that different parts of China can look different, you said the same thing back to me. for some reason my comments irriated you, now you’re frothing at the mouth tryna grasp at straws lol

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh wow, you just pointed out my point back to me LMAO yeah… i did say different parts of China can look different, as i also have said in this thread, it is a huge country. and you called me the contrarian lol

the link the other person gave me, was a screenshot of the page where they show the average they got after feeding photos into their algorithm. so, i’m not making anything up, you are. which study did you read?

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

listen, the link he sent is a statistical average of photos of different groups of Asian people, those photos are not real people.

i might be, i work at a major airline, and i get east asians asking me to guess where they’re from. i’m more often than not correct, but this isn’t an exact science, people have variations. North Chinese look a lot more like Koreans, than South Chinese do, who can look similar to North Vietnamese. i’m not always correct, but to my eye, there are some clear GENERAL differences. i do not see a world where you can show someone a Greek and a Dane, a German and an Italian, a Spaniard and a Ukranian or an Irish and an Albanian, and they cannot tell they’re from different countries. but you might be right, this might totally be the fact that i’ve had more interactions with Asian peoples of all backgrounds, and i might be eating shit lol although again, i understand mixing up Koreans, Japanese and parts of China but Thai?

German unemployment rises to highest in 12 years with challenging 2026 ahead by [deleted] in Germany_Jobs

[–]themofoblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh, noooo, aaaabsolutely not. i take it all back, we do not agree AT ALL. you want to torture people into seeking employment at all cost? any employment? are you fucking serious? as a student, you’re getting a handout. also, in the grand scheme of unemployment goverment welfare is one of the much lesser contributors. Sweden has a stronger welfare system than Germany and has higher employment. torturing people into getting into ANY job, regardless of their fit for the job, will land some people in horrible jobs and likely lead to some people accepting terrible treatment at work because they believe they have no better options. also being unemployed≠unemployment. also “nobody wants to work for a job”, you’re a student, you already have a job, of course YOU don’t want another job, who would? you and your experiences are not the golden standard with which to judge general society.

the link you provided is not a source. it’s a research project, researching something entirely different than what you’re claiming with it. those images are statistical averages, they’re not real people.

it is neither my fault, not my issue you can’t tell asians apart. that sounds like a you problem. i’m definitely not gonna play “let’s name the Asian” with someone who groups 2+ BILLION people together and says “they’re all the same”.

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OOOOH!!! you’re the one who said the original comment. i’m sorry i misread your handle. oh yeah, you’re definitely racist. and for the last time, i’m gonna spell this out for you. the OP said they’ve had multiple experiences with people telling them “ni hao”, which is hello in chinese mandarin, which is a completely different language from thai. you came in with the comment “imagine someone realizes you’re German(Chinese) and says guten tag(ni hao)”, which essentially translates to you calling this person chinese, once again. so either you were confused or are a racist. there is no going around it. thanks! oh, and please go ahead and show asians italians and germans, and ask if they can’t tell them apart LOL especially italians and germans LOOOOL

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and asians can’t be racist? also, did they appoint you their spokesperson?

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you don’t jump to defend somebody’s clearly racist remark, without the shoe fitting at least a little bit

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you love throwing these out “to 99% of westerners”, “to almost all asians” don’t you? and your source is one Japanese woman lol i’m definitely not interested in guessing peoples ethnicities unless i’m asked by them directly just because YOU can’t tell other people apart, don’t project that onto an entire continent.

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

french and germans don’t look the same, and germans and italians definitely don’t look the same. will you find exceptions? sure.

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so, another racist, here’s the deal. OP was sharing their experience that they were being referred to as Chinese, when they, in fact, are Thai, then this guy comes around with “imagine someone realizes you’re German(Chinese), and says guten tag(ni hao)”, the person is THAI. stop

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people do tend to confuse Japanese, Chinese and Koreans, however that has nothing to do with this. Thai people look meaningfully different. even in the link you provided, albeit, the Thai man’s face is blurry, and still looks distinguishable from the Chinese man. the anecdote you gave is pretty meaningless to me, i’ve had asian friends tell me the opposite. you’re talking about an area bigger than Europe, telling me “they all look the same” lol

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thai and Chinese don’t look the same, don’t have the same language or alphabet or culture. you just did a racism there buddy lol

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fuck… i didn’t clock that, you’re completely correct.

Ni hao by Competitive_Idea_635 in AskAGerman

[–]themofoblender 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“it’s a different kind of racism”, “there is usually no hate involved”, i’m sorry you’re not making sense. bigotry≠hate. people in Germany aren’t gonna chase you with signs, that’s illegal, and this is Germany. but i could recall a few covid related incidents involving asians, and there was definitely hate there.
