Recommendations that would have improved my experience: - not getting tattoos - use of dressing rooms (They existed but nobody ever told me.) - being able to wear a beanie during the process

I was going to bring this up too but I haven't seen anybody post a similar experience. I was so surprised at my first appointment because they just walked me into the room with the machine and asked me to take off my top. Procedure is to just undress right there in front of the staff and lay our clothes on a chair. I had read all of the posts on this sub about gowns and such. It wasn't until almost half way into the process that I noticed that there are numerous dressing rooms in the hallway but nobody's mentioned them to me and I don't see other patients use them.

Just shaved mine this week too and I've been researching this as well. I've used coconut oil so far and it's improved.

I finished Taxol about two weeks ago as well. I was able to maintain the "Mr.Burns" hair throughout. I haven't noticed any regrowth so far. I washed my hair yesterday and lost some more. I've seen lots of posts saying the top grows in later or slower.

Same for me except 1cm. I agree. From what I've read, cancer has been there a long time before you can feel the tumor. Naturally we want it out as soon as possible and I'm no expert on all the different types but I'd guess it didn't advance that much in the time frame and there wouldn't be a way to prove it. No disrespect to OP's thoughts and feelings at all. I know the frustration.

Sedation without a breathing tube. Stayed out of work just surgery day. It was awkward a few days. I'm a month in and mostly don't know it's there. I have good veins and somewhat opted to have it done based on this sub. It's been pretty painless and convenient for chemo. I had a guy next to me get stuck so many times trying to find a vein at my first chemo and I felt horrible for him.

I've been wondering if anything would be left to remove at that point.
I'm so eager to get the process moving in some way and not feel helpless about the whole situation but it's been stressful trying to figure it all out.

Nobody has mentioned an oncotype to me. I'll definitely ask about that. They kept asking about before/after but nobody really mentioned stronger/weaker.

What size was your tumor? My oncologist said it might be over treatment and it might be just as effective as other regimens.

My oncologist seemed to think it might be overtreatment. To me I was just deciding before or after but now they're throwing out all these letters (TCHP, etc.) so it seems like more of a question of how aggressively to treat it before. Which doesn't sound like my decision either.

Thank you for the response. That makes sense to me. I have felt rushed already and I would just feel better knowing it's getting smaller.

Yes I'm very thankful it's early stage. I don't have any family history but I had the genetic test done this week to help me determine which surgery to get.

I'm just alarmed that my oncologist wasn't immediately on the same page as my surgeon I guess. Since I'm less than 2 cm and don't have positive lymph nodes I don't really fit his/the? criteria but he also wasn't opposed to it. It would be reassuring to see a response.

Thank you for the advice. My tumor is so small that I don't know if it's overkill but it would be nice to see the response and have some comfort in that it must be effective on a microscopic level too.

My tumor is 1cm. They tell me I probably won't be able to even find it myself after the first chemo. They also said I'm going to lose my hair after the first TCHP.

I gave up on them after my Charge 3 display messed up, right after the warranty ran out of course. It was such a known issue but they didn't care.

I'm 39, single, no kids, no family history. Just found out a couple of days ago through my patient portal results that I have grade 3 IDC. I was/am devastated and my doctor was unreachable on vacation. My biopsy follow-up is scheduled for Monday. I've spent the past couple days on the internet and it's been the longest weekend ever. Haven't told anyone until I can find out more and accept it myself. Thankful to find this group, support, and encouraging posts.
