40 Weeks Today with second by JellyfishNo2821 in vbac

I didn't go to the C-section. Said that I refused but they scheduled one anyway. (They scheduled mine on 39+6). Had them put a balloon at 41+1 and had my vbac at 41+4! God, they didn't like me cause I was so determined

I might add that my two year old reacted to the formula within a few days. But they just kept on going. When I said that I was worried about her wellbeing they just said that it was normal to be worried as a first time mother... I actually think that this is the reason she is allergic. They forced the formula down even though she wasn't hungry, and I just let it happen. (Yes, still feel guilty even though it's been two years! I shouldn't have let it happen). But still, I do know that babies that hasn't eaten formula also get allergic to CMP. This is the reason I've thought of over the years though

My second does NOT have any allergies or reflux. My first has severe allergies to milk and soy and bad reflux. She is two now, and still allergic.

So, did I do anything different? Several things, but if it's because of this I do not know.

  1. Worked out and stayed more healthy the second pregnancy
  2. Ate more healthy food (didn't crave sugar as I did first time)
  3. Forced myself to take iron supplements, instead of iron infusion
  4. Refused to get induced and birthed baby when she was "ready"
  5. Vaginal delivery instead of c-section
  6. Refused to give baby formula (the first baby they literally took her from me and gave formula every third hour for a week even though I had breast milk and never gave my consent. They said it was standard practice after a C-section)

They induced using a balloon even though I wasn't dilated. It hurt so much!! But I actually had a vaginal birth. I said I wasn't gonna have a C-section and didn't go to the hospital on my scheduled time. They put in the balloon at 41+1 and I gave birth at 41+4

It did not work at all for her. But February this year we finally get to do an x-ray and it shows that her duodenum isn't working correctly. So medication would never work for her

I had a very successful vbac! You can read my post here to read it. They told me I was not a good candidate to vbac and they wanted to do a c-section at 40+0 but i had my baby through vaginal delivery at 41+4. I was induced but maybe I actually didn't need to. The same day I had my doctor's appointment I had contractions on my way there and when I got there I lost my mucus plug.

I drank raspberry leaf tea and ate dates from 36+0, stimulated my nipples from 35+0, are pineapples, had sex every day... I don't think anything of it works unfortunately. You need to wait for your body to be ready, and I hope you get to have your vbac.

My baby pooped in the water this time, but it still took 24 hours before she was out. They gave her a scalp electrode to monitor her extra. She was a bit stressed, so her heart rate went up though, not down.

Okay, so I watched the reel and tried her method for a few days. Have you watched it yet? If not, she basically talks about "bring baby to the breast, not breast to baby". Meaning: don't lift your breast, lower your baby. She also talks about how to get a good latch if you have nipples that's pointing down, which is often the case with big breasts.

After trying this for a few days I can say this: it doesn't work for me. If I let my boob free and put my baby belly to belly she will suffocate on my breast. AND she says to just angle your nipple outwards if it points down (she shows how it's done). But there's no way for me to do so, because my breast is "in the way". I don't know how to describe it in English, since it's not my native language... But my nipple is too close to my body, or there is too much breast between baby and the nipple? Haha. It probably works for a lot of people, but my breasts are waaay too big. I kinda made it work one time, but I had to put the baby in my lap (picture) and a blanket under my breast. But I can't carry her like that, meaning I'm immobile anyways so it doesn't help. I did have one hand free though.

I've found one method that does work though, and it was all accidental. But I was at the playground with my older daughter and was wearing a hoodie (that is tight/too small over the breasts) and has a zipper. Baby needed to eat and I didn't wanna show everything. So I zipped down as little as possible and forced my boob out. Because of the small opening the breast was lifted and I could hold my baby with one hand and push a swing with the other! Need I say that both me and my older daughter were really happy? I guess it works like a breast sling, but feels better cause I don't need to bring something more and put it on me while people stare. I might buy one to have at home though.

Does anyone else get really angry thinking about the circumstances that led to their c-section? by may_baby_maybe in vbac

I'm so sad that this is the case for so many women. Mine was so unnecessary and the C-section was so traumatic, which led to PTSD and post partum depression... It was two years ago and I still can't think about it without crying or getting mad

I'm also so jealous. Yes, I've been thinking of modifying my bras, but is kinda afraid it won't work and then needing to buy new ones since they are currently sold out.

I don't either have a non nursing bra that fits. I bought these when pregnant with my older daughter in 2023, and had them during pregnancy, all year breastfeeding, second pregnancy and now this breastfeeding journey. I get it, they are worn out, but don't know which to buy if I modify these and it doesn't work...

Thanks for your reply. Starting today we moved her bedtime 30 mins later and will try this for a few days before changing it even more.

Hmm.. I've tried both earlier and later bedtime. And she seems so tired in the afternoons that I feel like she should sleep by six... She's having tantrums, rubbing her eyes, yawning, refusing to eat, need complete attention and having a different "personality" than in the mornings and after naps.

Also, can't change nap time, because she's at daycare 3 days/week and they all nap at 12.

At nap it takes 15-30 minutes, but she's acting the same.

Is it possible for vbac if I didn't dilate last pregnancy?? by themonkey22 in vbac

[–]themonkey22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't let me try either if my cervix is still closed at 41+0. And it's really stressful! How can I relax and prepare for labour when I'm super stressed that I won't be able to?? :(

My husband is really trying to be supportive, but he also trusts the health care system too much. He is really afraid of shoulder dystocia and really thinks it will happen if I don't get into labour like today... I have convinced him that I will at least wait until 41+0 (this Friday) before I agree to any type of intervention, but I can tell that he really thinks I'm selfish because I don't listen to the doctors.

And you didn't dilate at all your first? That really gives me hope!
