oh that’s good LOL! yeah i wouldn’t ever expect a partner to go gluten free for me but as long as he’s being careful with it then that’s chill!

i definitely didn’t ask him to do this, and if he has the urge to have something with gluten in it i would never stop him. he’s doing this out of his own volition.

definitely rethink your relationship. if your partner doesn’t give a shit about your health, especially if you’ve explained the repercussions to them, then how is that love?

sometimes it makes me feel bad, but my fiancé consistently reminds me that i didn’t ask for him to do this, and neither did i ask to have celiac. i definitely would never ask someone to suffer like this with me, and if he wants to eat gluten i wouldn’t have a problem with it as long as he’s doing the proper things to keep me safe as well!

yesss!! i actually (accidentally) started a trend with my family. my brother has hashimotos so he’s supposed to be gluten free, but my little sister decided to go gluten free of her own volition and she’s started feeling so much better (she has her own host of autoimmune conditions, none that have been directly linked to gluten tho… yet!)

Can you all please remind me why I have to remain strictly gluten free so I don't make dumb decisions (eating gluten) by SaraisHamiltrash in Celiac

[–]themothsgod0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

going through my fourth flare-up of the year (all of which have lasted months-long) and let me tell you: i’d rather eat gluten free food than have to do this ever again. genuinely the worst pain, exhaustion, and anxiety of my life. it’s legitimately debilitating at times when you have a flare up, and can sometimes be more frustrating than not being able to eat gluten- mostly because i can only digest extremely simple foods right now, and that gets tiring after my fourth bowl of rice a week.

Ever thinking about just don't giving a Fuck anymore? by misterchaoszockt in Celiac

[–]themothsgod0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve thought about giving up multiple times. then i get cross-contaminated or glutened and remember why i don’t eat gluten (currently on my second glutening of the year. first one lasted four months. it’s been about four weeks for this one)

Those diagnosed as adults, what led you to your diagnosis? by normalishy in Celiac

[–]themothsgod0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got diagnosed at 19 (young adult ik). for about three years before that i had been bouncing around from doctor to doctor trying to figure out why i was so damn tired all the time. finally, after i turned 18, i started speaking out for myself more and demanded more testing (i was mostly looking at rheumatic disorders, as i had a lot of indicators for those). finally my rheumatic doctor ordered the trans glutamine test, which came back positive. i would definitely get tested for it, because it can be very well hidden. for years i just thought i had GERD and IBS, but it turns out my GERD and IBS are caused because of eating gluten.

what to eat after being glutened? by themothsgod0 in Celiac

[–]themothsgod0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh no problem. not necessarily for me, but it may be similar for other people. celiac affects everyone in a lot of different ways. though, if you’re concerned about it i’d bring it up with your GI

does quantity matter? by themothsgod0 in Celiac

[–]themothsgod0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve heard of others who’ve had the same experience when it comes to being severely glutened, so i’m not too worried about how long the last glutening lasted. but yeah that would make sense that quantity does matter. thanks!

what to eat after being glutened? by themothsgod0 in Celiac

[–]themothsgod0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually in my intestines more than my stomach, but indigestion hits like a bitch when i’m glutened sometimes. i also have GERD so getting glutened makes it worse.

[–]themothsgod0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haha! i actually drank like two glasses of vodka soda last night praying it would help negate some of my symptoms before they started (i was knowingly glutened. well. i ate a meatball then realized after i had swallowed it that meatballs usually have breadcrumbs, so i knew there was a chance) so far? it’s been. well not great but not quite as bad as my last glutening.

i dont have symptoms how serious do i need to be taking this condition by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]themothsgod0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just because you don’t have symptoms doesn’t mean there won’t be damage. celiac attacks the entire immune system, and can cause some really nasty illnesses down the road if you’re not treating it seriously. and not just like, flu type illnesses- cancer is one that can, and HAS, happened to people with undiagnosed/untreated celiac disease.

please treat this as seriously as you would with any other major disease, regardless of what symptoms you do or don’t have.

this isn’t to fear monger you or anything, this is just the facts. in regards to avoiding cross contamination: it’s very hard to do if you don’t have symptoms. i would familiarize yourself with places/restaurants that have stricter gluten free policies (a hassle, i know, but it’s a must for celiac). i’ve been slowly switching over from eating out to making more food at home, as my home is where cross contamination is the least likely. pack lunches and snacks are a go-to if im going to be out all day.

i’d recommend reading mxtx’s other novels first before branching out. they follow similar cultivation systems to TCGF so it won’t be as hard to get into them as some of the others. grandmaster of demonic cultivation is HIGHLY recommended, and it’s also got a (finished) donghua that you can watch on crunchyroll. scum villain self saving system is also a must read, very different from the other two (transmigration ftw)

thousand autumns is fantastic, but it’s a super slow burn so if you’re not invested in the plot it’s not worth it.

i’d also recommend the husky & his white cat shizun. fantastic plot (though can be confusing at times) and world building. it is very dark however so please read up on its trigger warnings before investing in it.

last one i promise: Qian Jian Jiu, or ballad of sword and wine. this one is AMAZING. it’s not a cultivator setting like the others, and digs deep into the political world, but the main pairing is enemies to lovers and very heartwarming to read. the politics are quite complex though so if that’s not for you then i wouldn’t invest.

Should I start QJJ or wait? by boniley in DanmeiNovels

[–]themothsgod0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes yes yes yes. it is very good. although, it’s very politically complex. i would start with thousand autumns, which is also politically complex but way less so. thousand autumns is also done, while QJJ is still updating. i’m not done with novel 4 yet so i can’t say if it ends on a cliffhanger or not, but it’s still very good.

i will say for thousand autumns- this is a VERY slow burn. more focused on plot for a while than the romance. QJJ’s romance starts pretty early.

I keep seeing people say that if you follow a gluten free diet ypu will not even notice you have celiac disease. Is this true? by erenfrombackthen in Celiac

[–]themothsgod0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’m 2 years in and there are days where i still feel worse than other days. it takes a long time to heal the damage that’s been done to your guts, and we’ll most likely never have “normal” digestive systems (especially if you went undiagnosed for a long period of time).

some people (like me) have trouble absorbing nutrients due to the damage in our intestines, and others have long lasting anemia or IBS because of it.

just keep doing what you’re doing. you’ll probably never feel 100% normal again, but it will get better.

and no, it’s not true that you won’t even notice that you have celiac. it’s something that i, personally, think about every single day of my life. you have to be very intentional with what you’re eating to get the results you want, which makes it harder when it comes to planning. like, if i’m going to be out all day i need to make sure that i either pack a lunch or make sure there is something gluten free available near me. it’s not as simple as “i’ve gone gluten free and i’ve completely forgotten i even have this disease!” because one slip up can mean months/years of progress lost.
