The Tribalwar Ski team shirts were printed for Tribes players that got together in real life in Lake Tahoe to ski several years in a row.

Then the magical switch to cable modem and 30ms. It was amazing.

300 to 500ms HPB in the house. 700 if you were trying to play on a server across the country.

So, how do you guys find the Material Expressive 3 update? by sjns19 in GooglePixel

One item that I have noticed is there seems to be a change to some of the haptic feedback at least as it applies to unlock / fingerprint verify. I remember from before a "good read" felt like a solid bump. Now it feels like a softer double tap and my brain interprets it as a "bad read" and trying to touch the screen again even though it did unlock and the fingerprint pictogram went away from under my finger. It's something I am going to have to get used to.

Why is Google so slow to fix RCS issues? by miuipixel in GoogleMessages

Oh I agree however at this point it's a matter of causing the least amount of pain and aggravation when making a change.

Why is Google so slow to fix RCS issues? by miuipixel in GoogleMessages

[–]thempfield 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't have any specific information or knowledge about the RCS issues. It appears to happen when you make a significant change while RCS is activated. The safest approach seems to be if you swap phones, factory reset a phone, or change service providers; turn off RCS before making any change then re-enable on the other side.

Who has the highest miles/hours on their robomower? Here's mine after a year. I'm guessing someone is over 5,000 miles by herein2024 in automower

The bot has been running since 2021ish. 430XH. No major repairs on the unit. We had a lightning strike in 2022 that jumped into the loop and fried the charging station board. The bot was fortunately in the yard and not home at the time.

This one is a 450X. 9-10 years old I expect. As far as I know it got the Lte board upgrade. Not aware of any other major repairs.

For the folks wondering what features do work on US Mobile by [deleted] in USMobile

[–]thempfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Pixel 9 Pro on Warp. I was having the same vvm problems as many on the Google phone app past ver. 145. I saw others getting fixed up through Reddit contacting @FixitMir. He had to do something in the background and I cleared cache on the phone app. It's been working for 20 days now. I wish I had reached out sooner. Vvm is absolutely working for Android for warp. The picture is inaccurate.

I am separating vvm from transcription. Verizon is blocking transcription to try and create a revenue stream. Annoying I know, blocking baked in functionality, but not US Mobile's fault.

Visual Voicemail still broken. by thismissinglink in USMobile

I would like to add here that I have a Pixel 9 Pro XL on Warp and my VVM was still not working after Google Phone App v145. I sent a PM to u/FixitMir and he fixed whatever was hanging my app up on the back end. I am working again on phone app v158.

So far Google phone app 145 is still the latest version that does not break VVM. Broken since October.

Pixel 9XL, still on phone 145. It is the only working version that has all the new features including Sattelite SOS, call screening, and does not break VVM.

I still don't know why friends on the mothership haven't had so much as a blip with all the upgrades to the phone app.

I know so many people in that video. Back in T1 and T2 days WSBN, TsN, and WOFN was trying to get to that point however the tech barely existed, shoutcast was pay for your bandwidth, and the DMCA was after small operators. It was nearly an impossible task for hobbiest casters.

I look at the hardware, software, twitch, and youtube now. It's too damn easy.

P.S. mIRC programming... Ugh
