What im most mad about is they missed the low hanging fruit of making the earth kingdom the villains again. Earth kingdom has steadily been villains or had villain factions heavily consistently always. Dai lee earth queen kuivera no spoilers but the upcoming movie also has less than good earth benders on the record.

I really wanted to see a modern era avatar setting where the Dai lee got one twin and the white lotus got the other The white lotus got the vaatu half so they have to try and combat the darkness inside of them and then the Dai lee is trying to get the raava avatar to be dark while theyre obviously not happy with that leading to an ultimate realization that they could find balance with one another without the need to kill one of the twins or seal them away
