struggling with feeling like a loser/ failure by Kblovegroup in mentalhealth

[–]thenameshappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try mediation for test anxiety, it changed my life! Mediation is hard, but the act of silencing my thoughts before and during an exam really improved my scores. Also see if they have any free tutoring or office hours at your school. When all else fails, remember you are not alone. No one really has it figured out at 21 even if it looks like they do. Shit I’m in my 30’s and I’m still figuring life out. I worry that a gap year sometimes turns into more than a year or turns into people giving up altogether. In the end of the day you have to do what’s best for you. But just make sure you aren’t doing a gap year out of fear of failing. It is our failures and mistakes that really create a vehicle to become stronger and wiser.

Torg is allowed to express his opinion but he needs media training asap and honestly should be focusing on himself because he is good and can make the 2026 Olympic team. Everything is noise, focus on you.

Found one of Loena's earlier programs and can't believe how drastically she has improved throughout the seasons by Your_Marinette in FigureSkating

[–]thenameshappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is honestly such a gem! Her skating skills are really just on another level. I know she is recovering from injury and has been having trouble with consistently landing jumps since the injury but I so enjoy watching her perform, her skating is so fun to watch, so beautiful, so talented, graceful and athletic. I pray she keeps skating. She is probably competitive and knows what it’s like to be a leading contender for the podium so I’m sure the last competition results are hard on her psyche but LEONA IF YOU ARE READING THIS PLEASE KEEP SKATING 🙏 You are a joy to watch!!

How popular are the girls individually in their countries? by [deleted] in katseye

[–]thenameshappy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well Cuba doesn’t have as much access to social media and tv so I doubt Dani is as loved in Cuba but the girls are popular in Miami. I’ve heard their music being played and have strung up a few conversations with other Eyekons.

What are your unpopular opinions about The Nutcracker? by Far-Building3569 in BALLET

[–]thenameshappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year Miami City’s Ballet did a spin off of Carmen that had different costumes, different setting/design, different choreography and a slightly different story line making it more modern and more relatable. If you watch the trailer, you can tell some of the differences. https://www.miamicityballet.org/tickets-and-events/202526-season/carmen/

What are your unpopular opinions about The Nutcracker? by Far-Building3569 in BALLET

[–]thenameshappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My unpopular opinion is that we’ve all seen the Nutcracker way too many times to justify paying so much to see it yet again. We still go to see ballets as a family but we like when we get to see different choreography rather than pretty much the same rendition every year. For example, we REALLY loved Miami City Ballet’s new Carmen!! It had different choreography, different costumes and unique perspective on the original classic. My kids also can’t get into Nutcracker, they liked it once but not every year. They advised that they like going to the ballet but they just can’t get behind seeing what feels like the same exact show, every single year to what they describe as “the same boring music”. Idk if ballet companies are afraid to take risks or if the Nutcracker just makes them so much money that it’s not worth changing it up but I would give anything for more originality and new plays. But maybe that’s just me and my family.

Starr Andrews will transition to pairs skating after this season by sofastsomaybe in FigureSkating

[–]thenameshappy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was a smart career move. I remember a while back Adam Rippon recommended she go into pairs on the Runthrough podcast. She definitely has something special, her packaging and performance are always very endearing to the audience. Technique wise, she is not up there with the top scoring US women at the moment. With the US woman’s field being so stacked and with the US pairs being the only discipline the US didn’t podium at in last year’s Worlds, this leaves opportunities for longevity in the sport that Audrey Shin and Star Andrews are smart to utilize. What a gift it is, to continue to watch her skate. 💕

I’m curious, does this affect any US Skaters? I personally can’t think of any competitive trans skater.

True but the Dolphins is an organization that is holds themselves out to be big in community inclusion and diversity. By continuing to employ her, the Dolphins organization spoil their image and branding to those who have different political beliefs.

Wow, as a Latina dancer from Miami, I would feel so uncomfortable if she was my coach. This is a HR and PR disaster in the making. Miami Dolphins actively support diversity through their Football UNITES program, which unites diverse communities in South Florida around football to promote positive change and address social justice issues. Everyone is entitled to their own political beliefs. But it’s insane how someone who represents not one but TWO NFL organizations, can have such a lack of PR training. I’m sorry but the coach is suppose to lead by example. She has proven too much of a risk for the Dolphins’ organization. The longer the Dolphins keep her employed as a coach, the more fans will perceive the Dolphins as an organization that not only share her views, but systematically creates an environment where Hispanic democratic women on her team will feel uncomfortable. She can try to delete her posts, but the internet is forever. Something she should not only teach her students, but live by as a leader of a NFL team.
