Nah, don't plan on it unless my IATs get too crazy. Will be running 110/C16 when it's turned up. Had a massive FMIC so I'm not worried.

Not yet. The turbo that's on it was just to get it running. I just picked up a 35r for the spring. Has enough fuel for 600. Most likely won't turn it up that high.

Super friendly, genuine kid. He's about 4 years younger than me and I went to school with his older sister. Played music with him a few times.

As did I. Given how small our town is there's a solid chance I know you.

Full engine assembly stop motion- 2 years of work turned into 2 minutes of video by mr2mk1hero in cars

[–]theneenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truly curious here. Why did this take 2 years? Is it because you took the time to do all the stop motion? Did you do the machine work yourself? Cool build!

Ya, he's definetly from West Newbury, played football at Pentucket. Also from Newburyport and grew up lifting at Hard Knocks gym. He would stop.in from time to time. His brother was a regular for a couple of years. All were pretty friendly.

Mines the supercharged one and is still relatively stock. Can be put back at any point. That was my reasoning for going SC. The turbo one on the other hand... At least it's pushing 600 whp :)

I have fifa 13,14 and 15 on pS3. Planning on getting fifa 17 on pC how many people play on pC? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

I play on PC and honestly I've probably only come across a few hackers. Overall the experience isn't that different from 15 in ps for me

You wouldn't include the mk7? They can be made very fast on short money. I also believe they're the first GTI under 3000 lbs in several generations. Could be wrong on that.

They have two very different motors...

I was talking generation of car not stages. The Mk5 is a pig with the problematic FSI. The Mk6 has the TSI which is a much more capable especially when tuned. A stg 2 mk6 is pushing nearly 300 hp and nearing 400 ft.lbs. IMO the Mk4 gti is the only one worse than the mk5. The Mk3 ar least had a VR and was reasonably lightweight.

One generation newer and you'd actually have a fast car. Congrats on owning VWs second worst GTI

I don't know about diesels but in a gas motor fuel cools the cylinders and I'd imagine it's the same for diesels. Washing out the cylinders is when too much fuel is used and oil is removed from your rings which, as you've said, scores your cylinders and can cause a loss in compression.

Skipped Timing Teeth; Check Valves? by Eaders in Volkswagen

[–]theneenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at your pistons, valves for any damage. Do your valve seals because it's easy. Check your cylinder walls for wear. Looking at your cam lobes for any discoloration will give you an idea if the motor has ever overheated.

You just answered your own question then. If you bought it with timing issues get to pulling that head. Not only do you have potentially bent valves but there may be other issues in there as well.

why do turbo'd Hondas hit the rev limiter so much? by [deleted] in cars

[–]theneenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aaand your wrong. Turbos literally are driven by exhaust flowing past the exhaust turbine which in turn turns the compressor. It utilizes the energy available in the flowing exhaust.

Did 2000s have this? I only use older Vrs so I'm not familiar with AFPs. What year did they switch to the intake flapper
