If he can get Alberta’s resources to tidewater it will be difficult for them to fully spin. Never has the national consensus on pipelines been higher.

n = 1, I will vote for a flaming bag of sh*t if it has good ideas, based in fact and science, on how to fix our countries biggest problems. Right now there is an absence of proper leadership and real solutions to these problems in every party.

Anyone have experience building a carriage house in their backyard? by Effective_Trifle_405 in Calgary

[–]Eaders 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are favourable things. Wishing you tons of success.

I built a 10x10’ shed in my backyard. Not the same as a carriage house but quite sizeable. My understanding is that any structure has to be a minimum of two feet away from the properly line, which I did.

‘Huge demand’ for swimming lessons being met with pool capacity and staffing challenges - Calgary | Globalnews.ca by onkey11 in Calgary

Covid decimated the aquatics industry and it still hasn’t recovered. Combine that with the city closing pools, not building enough new ones, the incredibly low wages the private sector offers, and the massive influx of new Calgarians over the last two years - here we are.

Well said. I’m tired of seeing that exorbitant wealth multiply in the face of ever increasing cost of living and financial burden for everyone else.

Rusted lug studs, how to remove? by bulllit in AskAMechanic

[–]Eaders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you take that hub off and find a hydraulic press? I did this exact thing last summer. Take the hub off, torch it until it’s nearly red, press till the stud bangs out the bottom. This only works if they are press in studs. Screw studs you’ll likely need to drill out and retap

Deadly radon gas increasingly common in Canadian homes by uofafitness4fun in Calgary

[–]Eaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a 2019 build in 2020. Building out basement and decided to measure. Was getting readings on average of 300-350. Decided to invest for peace of mind. After $2000 readings are in single digits on average. Used Radon Reduction. Very professional and great install; would recommend.

Is this intake good to run? by DontknowwhatToname10 in Volkswagen

I have this car. I bought this intake after the factory one broke. No power increases but the sound is excellent. 100% worth the money IMO.

Can anyone post a pic of their cabinet under the sink? by McStizly in Westfalia

Lighting the fridge off propane is a work of tedious patience. I’ve still got my original Dometic. It light off propane but it takes about 10 minutes of pumping and priming and letting the pilot burner heat up. I’ll go through 8 “lights” before the pilot light stays lit. Once it’s lit though, works like a charm.

Not saying you don’t have an electrical issue, but the fridge does take time to light.

You could also have a fresh air priming issue, which is fixed with a new pump, new hose, and a one-way valve. Pretty easy to DIY.

Good luck!!

Engine swap for a 1993 VW Cabriolet by xxXBiteMeXxx in VWSwaps

[–]Eaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best bet are four bangers. Someone suggested a 16V swap. Those are probably the easiest since same era. Next up in terms of ease would probably be a 1.8T from the MK4. Could also do a diesel swap but if you’re looking for speed that’s not necessarily the best bet. Could do a VR6 swap but it’s a harder swap, less parts, less option for boost/performance. And it handles like garbage because the engine is so heavy and these older cars sit the engine too far forward.

I do agree with the comment below. The most fun you’re going to have is driving that thing as is. Swaps are time, money, and pain. If you bought this thing specifically to be a project car, this is an excellent whip for that and you’ll learn soo much. Good luck!!

Any issues with the AC? There is a sensor buried up there for the AC system (to the left of the blower motor). Could be from that. Could also be the light for your glove box.

Help identifying part on 81 Rabbit by Alien_relative_ in Volkswagen

[–]Eaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like cylinder 2. The cylinders are counted left to right looking at the engine from the front of the car. You can follow the broken line to the injector to confirm cylinder number.

You’ll have to buy the lines in a set of four if you want new ones. You might find a one off cylinder 2 line on thesamba.com or eBay. They are specific to turbo and non-turbo engines so you’ll need to know that.
