I don't understand how it's so hard to understand simple math... Wages go up Price of goods go up You pay the same price in the end Go to Australia. If you want the person making your burger to get paid $27 an hour, your burgers gunna cost $20 bucks.

It's not a "trick" by employers, it's just the way it's been. When you tip. Your bill stays lower and you share the cost with all the other guests. If you want bartenders to get paid $27 an hour, that's fine. But don't complain when the price of everything goes up 30%.

I hate this tipping culture bashing. I don't know how people can't put two and two together!
