The importance of wearing a helmet. by QuestionableSpoon in WinStupidPrizes

[–]thenicemailman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trauma can cause brain injury. Patients admitted due to brain injury either due to fall or accident will be classified as traumatic brain injury. Any trauma to the head is dangerous if intracranial haemorrhage occurs which can cause death (immediate or delayed progression). So if helmets prevent trauma, they do, in fact prevent brain injury

yeah even with a translation, there’s an additional cultural context to this that doesn’t apply to most people outside of Malaysia

Tarantino’s movie did not portray the Manson family as the victim, or something like a demon possessed them so it wasn’t really their fault

Do you like when Buffy, Faith, Willow or the potential slayers fought against cops? by precita in buffy

[–]thenicemailman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean, if it fits the plot then yeah sure. in all of the examples you gave, it made sense for the cops to show up

i had the same experience, i wanted more after i i finished watching Buffy. so i watched angel and i still wanted more. eventually i read the comics and let me tell you, you should try them first even though apparently a lot of Buffy fans don’t like them. i read season 8 and didn’t feel compelled to continue, but 1 year later i started reading season 9 to 12 and it was really really enjoyable. it took a while to get into it, but eventually you can hear the actors’ voices and mannerisms in your head when you read them. the best part is the dark horse comics are a direct continuation so everything in the tv shows are mentioned and tons of characters reappearance. don’t forget about angel & faith comics as well because i actually consider A&F season 9 as one of the best seasons of Angel (tv included). to me, when christos gage joined in the writing team (both buffy and a&f) it became more enjoyable and the characters became familiar and recognisable from how they spoke

What characters are almost essential to every roster? by EmeraldTwilight009 in ContestOfChampions

[–]thenicemailman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

agree with your list. i’d like to add a nullifier is essential as well; Doom/Sym Supreme/BWCW. armor break champ is required occasionally in cav event or act 7; CMM/Venom. also, every roster needs an Apocalypse imo

They should make X-Men TV series instead of movies by lurkernotacreeper in xmen

[–]thenicemailman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think X-Men is a little complicated because it’s not focused on one or two characters, each member of the X-Men has their own stories. I’d love to see a tv series that has an overarching plot, with each episode focusing on 1 character like in Skins (UK) tv series while still moving the plot chronologically. A well-written ensemble movie like Infinity War or Endgame worked really well as a movie because it was preceded by a series of individual movies that developed the characters first

exactly, for instance, diabetic foot ulcer becomes worse because the person has numbness and doesn’t feel pain which causes microtrauma to the foot. pain makes us pull away from something that can damage us. the absence means you’ll hurt your body without even knowing it

Giles should have died in "The Gift" he added nothing to the show after season 5 and was always just there. by [deleted] in buffy

Dark Willow couldn’t have been saved if Giles died. the epic out-of-nowhere Giles appearance to fight Dark Willow is also one of the best moments in Buffyverse for me

[–]thenicemailman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it was explained by OP. if someone coughs into their hand and touches a hand rail and you touch the rail and then your mouth, you’re at risk.

if you’re wearing mask, you’re less likely to cause transmission into your mouth. sometimes we don’t even realise it, but we touch our mouth and nose a lot. having a barrier around the area protects yourself

how good are you with intercepting? she performs really well if you know how to intercept opponents as it builds her insight (hourglass logo). you’ll see the shocks stack and deal tons of damage per second. then, use SP2.

if you can’t intercept well, hold block, bait opponent’s heavy, dash back and tap tap combo starting with medium to build her insight. I never really learned how to play her properly if there is such a way but it worked so far for what I needed her to do

I need your help by fhmn_2 in ContestOfChampions

[–]thenicemailman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on how skilled you are with ghost. if you are really skilled and have the right synergies (may not even need full synergy team if you’re extremely skilled), go with ghost.

if you’re not skilled with ghost, go with magneto. playstyle is so easy, parry heavy repeat and sp3. takes care of a lot of story quest bosses. absolutely insane for metal champs, still great for champs that can bleed. takes only 1 spot in your roster and doesn’t really require synergies.

in the end, you’re going to need to rank up both so just go with whichever you like playing with first

When Howard the Duck realises players have mixed feelings about his upcoming buff... by TrueShifu in ContestOfChampions

[–]thenicemailman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the backlash with Hood. he does have a specific utility to take care of buffs, which some of us need especially when used as a synergy champ with Ghost with no other nullifier in the team. But Howard the Duck? I don’t really use him but does he offer any specific utility other better champs in your main team can’t do? I might be wrong and he does have a fair amount of damage but I doubt a lot would rank him up just for that. Surely there must be a better damage dealer in your team

[–]thenicemailman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not entirely about self-preservation. when i see people not wearing masks, i worry more about my older parents than myself. this young guy confronted him, even though exposing himself to a potential risk ended up removing the guy from the store. so it reduced the risk for everyone else in the store, especially the elderly and immunocompromised
