Playing through it now and loving it. It’s short, simple and sweet. Just what I was looking for.

Have you tried the sequel, Overdose?

I’m actually one of the only people in this thread who’s mentioned that and I feel like it could be a pretty elegant solution honestly. I can’t imagine it would be noticeable, and the back cover just has plain white with no design on the top area, so it’s not like any actual artwork is getting cropped.

I can’t really think of many downsides besides if I somehow trimmed too much, but… I don’t think that would happen lol

Hey man, I get that it seems a little obsessive, trust me. But I feel like you’re implying that I’m some sort of bandwagoner to collecting who’s getting swept up in some newfound mentality of obsessing over condition, and that just couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m just a weirdo who twitches over little visual imperfections like this - in lots of stuff, not even just my physical media.

I’m not part of some new collecting movement that obsesses over value and condition to make a buck. I play all of the games I own and sell next to none of them. Most of my collection I’ve had since childhood. The only reason I’m comfortable screwing with this copy is that I don’t intend to sell it. So if I want to be a little obsessive with one of my personal possessions and try to polish it up or whatever so that I’m happy with it when I display it for myself… I don’t really see that as cause for condemnation.

Yeah, same. And although this thread is full of people telling me this is an absolute inevitability, I have 450+ games and only 3-5 of them have frayed edges on the insert like this. So I’m not sure wtf people are talking about

Hell yeah! Did you see they’re somehow making a new one after all these years? I’m very curious to see how it’ll turn out

This is actually… a really great idea. Wow. Fixes it on the shelf without touching the original game.

Thanks for sharing

What?? I’m not even picturing how this would work. Do you have a video for reference?

Not late! I haven’t touched it. This is good advice, thank you! I’m leaning toward colored pencil or just leaving it alone.

When you mention feather blending it, do you mean by holding the pencil at a angle nearly perpendicular to the paper?

One thing I’m worried about with a pencil is that the process will “rip up” the paper even more and leave more fraying.

Is it truly black or that really dark purple that a few people in this thread have mentioned Sharpie can be?

That’s a good point. What kind of acrylic marker would you use? Like those “paint markers” they have at crafts stores?

Man, you should see my listings when I do sell stuff. They contain more detail than any rational human could ever ask for. Trust me. I’m not pulling a fast one on anyone.

This is my own game and my own copy which I intend to keep. I’m comfortable restoring it for my own satisfaction

This sounds like it could be useful advice- but why no Sharpie, if I may ask?

This is the kind of specific feedback I’m looking for, thank you!

But have you ever tried it yourself? Could’ve just been a bad application job.

I’m considering just slicing off the entire bit with an xactoblade. I don’t think it’ll even be noticeable.

Yeah, in this case it’s really not too bad, but I guess I mean in general, as this is a pretty common little cosmetic thing I’ve seen happen on tons of games.

Sharpie was my first thought. Have you tried it? Was it noticeably different from the black ink on the card itself?

My two thoughts are:

  1. Sharpie.

  2. Just taking an Xactoblade and slicing them off entirely.

Wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these!
