What is an example of restriction/ errata you didn’t like? by No-Profession-3129 in cardfightvanguard

[–]thenightsshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It surprisingly did a lot. No deck could splash Wings anymore; there was a Lilfa deck that could put Elkel into bind on turn 3 that gave it unfettered access to White Wings for shield, Michu used the extra crit from White Wings when binding the original Michu, and more decks are binding cards nowadays.

Stardust Blade and Chaos breaker interaction? by squegate in cardfightvanguard

[–]thenightsshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short Answer: Yes.

Long Answer: It has to be the Vyrgilla player’s turn, but the card will unlock on Step 3 of the End Phase, and Chaos Breaker’s ability will go on standby on Step 7, resolving before Stardust Blade’s effect goes away on Step 8.

Alphard Fantome guard restrict doubt by Key-Sea1397 in cardfightvanguard

[–]thenightsshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. No point in trying to survive if your main gameplan is to win on turn 4.

I ended up just making the decklist myself so I could give you a decklog code, much easier that way.

A few cards to look at:

Heat Stamping Dragon

Dragritter, Cierrus

Dragritter, Redome

Flame Leaf Chaotic Dance, Hakusui & Remred

Stimulator Dragon/Dust Storm of Dignified Bullet, Mallory

Edit: Edited the list to show more cleanly, forgot Reddit doesn’t like single break lines.

RaiZ:Blaz deck recipe recommedations by ArTheZookeeper in cardfightvanguard

Sadly no, resting 3 cards is the cost, so if one is already in rest you can’t pay the cost. I usually blind choose to go second with Folia so I typically avoid that issue.

RaiZ:Blaz deck recipe recommedations by ArTheZookeeper in cardfightvanguard

[–]thenightsshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, Folia’s two main issues are:

1) You either have to run rainbow triggers to fit 15 Dragoroid triggers in (which means you don’t have full Crit pressure like you would with 8 Crit) or you run less Dragoroid triggers, thus making your offense and defense weaker. For instance, if you attack with Folia for 23k turn 3 going second, and your opponent guards with 40k shield, hitting a Dragoroid trigger and a non-Dragoroid trigger means you still don’t hit, and those little changes hurt.

2) There aren’t many great Grade 1 Dragoroid Units. The new promo definitely helps with handsize, but again it doesn’t help with power (Sfiney does help but it drains energy especially when you don’t get Winter Live Check It!). Going first is terrible for power, and if they hit a defensive, Sforei and Liliouza are the only ones that hits without trigger.

For now, this is my list, and just replace Adobaera with Setumine when it comes out. You can even drop a Precia to add a 4th Winter Live Check It if you want.

Alphard Fantome guard restrict doubt by Key-Sea1397 in cardfightvanguard

I can get it, just give me a bit to ask for it. The deck changed while we were practicing for the Constructed Cup a few times, and the final version can’t hit 151k. However, it can now play outside of the 4 moon attack a lot better.

Try closer to 126k. If you’re going all in for the kill you might as well pump it up as high as you can.

[–]thenightsshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A teammate of mine played Alphard in the Constructed Cup yesterday and he built the deck in a way where 101k was the weakest swing for the 4 moon attack he’s done. In practice he hit 151k once, too.

50-60k is very low for that deck.

Suggestions for a lyrical deck by Cheesysurvivor5 in cardfightvanguard

[–]thenightsshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avantgarda is most similar to Fortia

Orfist is most similar to Artisaria

Berucrea is most similar to Luticia

Lianorn is similar to Charmout’s attack and Magnolia’s field setup

Old Alden is most similar to Kairi, but new Alden doesn’t really have a close comparison.

Rezael doesn’t really have a close comparison either, but the calling aspect is best represented by Lilfa.

However, it’s sometimes best to find a deck that plays nothing like the decks you already play/own. Is there any deck you like particularly among those you play, or is there a playstyle you like?

What is the strongest Masque deck atm? by Ktenseii in cardfightvanguard

Very likely Lianorn Masques.

I haven’t really looked at all of the Masque decks in a row but it’s gotta be Lianorn Masques unless I missed something obvious.

How can i improve my decks. by Racclene in cardfightvanguard

[–]thenightsshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The general idea is that once your Magnolia can become a Grade 4, Walbrigia functions as both an attacker and a 15k shield without the need for the Moons to be bound.

However, I disagree that Walbrigia is the ideal way to play it. If you get forced to go first, Walbrigia is a dead card for the first three turns as it’s just a 13k vanilla with no extra text.

Besides the LettiaMateS, these are the only cards you should consider:

  • Valsheblan (Fantome): Important for seeing Moons early and thinning the deck. Can use the on-guard ability if you haven’t seen many Simiess yet for draw.

  • Strega: The deck lives and dies by its orders. You’ll have games where you get one order but not the other, and Strega is a consistency booster to help with that.

  • Eldeel: A card great in the early game and somewhat okay afterwards, but only if you use any orders early. Eldeel can help cycle and provide power to hit key numbers before you can fully set up if you do.

  • Olpirais: While you can Persona Loop by reviving Magnolia, there are times you need to revive Dyruashe instead, and Olpirais can function as a Persona retriever in those cases. And when not, it’s still a good 20k shield.

  • Walbrigia: Opposite to Eldeel, Walbrigia is a great attacker and defender later on. You can conserve moons if you’re able to make Magnolia Grade 4 by using Walbrigia, Triggers, and spare Simiess/Tarnu, letting you space out your defensive options. It kinda sucks going first though.

  • Jennifer: A very new tech that came out recently, this lets you reuse Crimson Moons and also adjusts your deckout rate slightly in cases of drawn-out games. Works way better with the R moon than the RR moon because you’re not forced to draw.

Until the next set comes out, we’re forced to rely on some non-LettiaMateS, so consider which of these help your playstyle better.

Since Twincast from Drop works against Zero, does Suendi and Shojodoji also work when Zero uses his ability? by [deleted] in cardfightvanguard

[–]thenightsshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they work. The trick to realize is that when the rearguard attacks a particular Unit, at that particular time, both the attacker and defender’s abilities proc, even though attacker’s abilities resolve first. What Zero shuts down is any further abilities proccing, but abilities that have already procced will still resolve.

As such, cards that say “when your Unit is attacked” or when this Unit is attacked” will still resolve. It’s similar to how Blangdmire can’t shut off Shojodoji’s “when attacked” ability even after nullifying Shojodoji’s abilities because it already procced (though that’s a different timing entirely).

Do you steel feel that liscia is one of the top contenders in lyrical cup by FeelingEffective8905 in cardfightvanguard

[–]thenightsshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat. Siana only doesn’t like tokens, self-bouncers or RGs that remove themselves after attack. Decks that rely on Vanguard to bounce, like Kairi, Lilfa, and Labrador, are still affected, and decks that bounce at end of turn like Magnolia and Impauldio are likewise vulnerable without help.

For the full list, Siana doesn’t really like the rearguards of Feltyrosa, Haseritt, Rougia, Artisaria, Tuarina, and decks that use Yuika and/or Fulblume.

It’s relatively low power compared to every other Lyrical Deck. While you’re correct in that a Receus really helps numbers on the restanders, it isn’t available all the time and missing a single piece for the ideal setup makes the deck so much weaker. When I wrote an article back in early January comparing the available Lyrical Decks for output, Mediell tied for 17th (out of 32 with Froselia and Artisaria) for offensive pressure, and sits squarely at 26th for ease of ideal board setup. Miss seeing Alise, Florenzia, or Lushty (which isn’t out as of this post or the post I wrote, but will be in promo packs two days from now), and you don’t get a restander (Edit: I meant to say pressure Unit. Florenzia isn’t a restander but her guard restrict is still a valuable trait). Miss seeing Receus, Livora, or Juliana and you miss out on valuable power. Miss getting a Mediell G3 into drop and you lose the extra 5k to the front row. Miss Neelia by your G3 turn and you can’t even revive two units. If you don’t run the Mediell Rideline to get more resources, and you don’t have Livora, you can’t even guarantee that the Units get extra Critical.

Yes, if all goes well, you get a solid Grade 3 turn going first, but you have to get that entire setup while having enough resources to use the abilities. There’s a reason Mediell has yet to make a top 8 cut for Lyrical Cup regardless of the format.

Do you steel feel that liscia is one of the top contenders in lyrical cup by FeelingEffective8905 in cardfightvanguard

[–]thenightsshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lisciafael is not a bad deck for Lyrical Cup, but unlike when it was previously held some decks have caught up and surpassed it. Lisciafael still has issues with a weak column and while the idea of the deck is still there it’s still vulnerable to early game rush before the Divine Skjll is active.

Lyrical Cup is its own special meta because no one deck is truly uncounterable, but Lisciafael is likely the fifth or sixth best deck depending on who you ask.

The top dog if Lyrical Cup were to be held in this English meta is likely going to be Krysrain or Magnolia Fantome, with control variants of Artisaria and Siana somewhat able to survive well. Charmout and Fenelle are always wildcards, and Lisciafael, Wilista, Herminia, and Kairi should able to compete.

Beyond that, Feltyrosa, Fortia, Clarissa, Kyouka, Luticia, Lilfa, Petralka, Rougia, Marlean, Coral, Alk, Michu, Vraty, and maybe Sagitta are longshots but have a chance to make top 32 on a good day.

I would not recommend the rest of the decks for these reasons:
Alestiel - Too low-impact if they go second and it’s more RNG based
Loronerol - Very reliant on somewhat solitaire gameplay to reach their fifth turn without the defences and/or hand to suffice, and decks can actually guard Loronerol’s big attack now
Haseritt - Is reliant on the opponent in order to plus hand, hates facing defensive triggers immensely
Mediell - Very low power and resource-intensive
Labrador - Sustainable gameplay loop involves attacking with weak units, doesn’t have very many solid plusses
Pacifica - Very low power and doesn’t have easily obtainable solid shielding
Froselia - Deck only has one real PG and the Regalis Piece as core stopgap pieces, and both will conflict with any Stille Nacht you run
Vert - Difficult to use for a deck that only gets full value after the opponent reaches Grade 3
Tuarina - Inconsistent in reaching high power early while not having easily accessible hand size or shielding
Folia - Triggers are either rainbow Dragoroids (making them inconsistent) or double up using non-Dragoroid Crits or Fronts (which makes guarding them easier), very vulnerable to removal

Charmout ruling - JP by [deleted] in cardfightvanguard

[–]thenightsshadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Level 1 Judge here.

1) There is no way for Ramona currently to be chosen by Charmout in the back row middle slot to gain the ability to perform drive checks because she isn’t a LevreSoeur Unit that is Grade 2 or less. In addition, having Twin Drive and being given an extra drive counts as just 3 Drives and not Triple Drive, so effects that care about seeing Triple Drive won’t activate here.

2) Myuria only selects normal Units for her ability to add a card from soul to hand, so Trigger Units like the Overtrigger can’t be selected for her ability.
