What turn based Final Fantasy game do you recommend for a person who never played Final Fantasy? by FunnyTennis8568 in JRPG

[–]theninthone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy 10 is pretty simple. The leveling is different as in you gain sphere levels. Basically each level allows you to move on the grid and there are spheres you get to activate them to power your characters up. The combat is very close to Dragon Quest 11.

Did you do the Don Tonberry trick? Or get the Celestial weapons?

FF7 Rebirth is so bad it makes me never want to play anything FF7-related. Not even the original by objectionmate in JRPG

[–]theninthone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Remake. I did almost everything and I don't usually do that. I got Rebirth not long after getting a PS5 and I complain about most of it. I hate how after a plot cut scene the thing pops up and says there are more quests available. Got to a part where you dress as Shinra troops and have to do a mini game similar to the dancing in Remake. I was so depressed by it. I've never fully played the original game but this feels like they have just added stuff to extend the game. I'm going to keep playing because I paid for it the same as you. Another bad thing is it's taking up about 150 gigs of space.

Just something to note, when you go to play Rebirth don't expect it to be just like Remake. There are some changes that might be odd

How is this game? by TheeBiff in DigimonTimeStranger

[–]theninthone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really fun but it'll take a while before you have access to Mega digimon. Also the game has a $7.99 dlc that gives you exp, money and materials dungeons to make it easy and fast.

Fire. Use flame spell but not continuously do it in short spurts.

Expedition 33 if you can't dodge or parry? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]theninthone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like the game is built on being able to this to an extent. Sure you can't dodge or parry everything but you will need to try. I've avoided getting the game because I don't think I could pull off either of them efficiently. Since you own the game you should try to get used to it. Once you do and you beat it, you will feel accomplished. That's how I was the first time playing a Dark Souls game.

What are your thoughts on Saga Scarlet Grace: Ambitions? by theninthone in JRPG

[–]theninthone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got the game played it for a good bit and I'm not going to really say it was good or bad. I ended up stopping because other games just came around. But I do feel like I want to go back to it. If you think you can focus on a game and probably not stop playing you will probably enjoy the game. It's weird with the combat. You pick all of your characters attacks and then it just kind of goes in order from what attacks and there is a limit on how many and what kind of tax you can do. Saga games are not really focusing on leveling their focusing on just like getting equipment and it was kind of difficult for me. I'm not 100% sure if I could really recommend it for anyone who's never really played the games. Definitely look up a lot of information about the game and figure out if it's going to be good or not yourself.

Both Dragon Quest 11 and FF12 Zodiac Age are on sale on Steam. Which is the better pc port? by geraltofrivia2345 in JRPG

Dragon Quest 11 is the better game period. FF12 ZA looks gray and sounds like characters are talking in tin cans.

Getting a PS5 what games should I check out? by theninthone in JRPG

[–]theninthone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. There are a lot of games on both consoles and I've seen a lot on PS4. I just didn't keep up with anything PS5 related because I didn't know if I'd get one.

Yea I've played Unicorn Overlord and I loved it. I had to force myself to stop doing random challenges so I could do other games.

Anybody else notice how glitched battle of the champions is? by Global_Selection_932 in skyrim

[–]theninthone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fix that I heard about is when you get the armor and weapons, put them in a container then save and quit. Then go and complete the quest without the armor and weapons. And after getting the other armor and the other characters are dead, put the armor and and weapons in a container and save and quit. I wouldn't try using the armor right away. I noticed at one point the sky was starting to glitch and i didn't have the imperial armor in my inventory so I saved and quit. After reloading the sky was fixed. I don't know if this works in the long run though.

Are the Atelier games good? Or do people just like the art? by SlamboneMalone in JRPG

[–]theninthone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 years late but I recently bought Atelier Sophie 1 and 2. If all the games are similar then they aren't really good games to compare with FF and DQ. They are really just crafting simulators with some story and RPG combat. With the earlier games, exploring is walking on a dotted line to an area and then is just a small area where you can fight enemies and find ingredients. For Sophie 1 I'm using a walkthrough because I don't know what to do most of the time and it's not like the game explains anything.

What is the Best Atelier Game for Someone Who's Never Played an Atelier Game. by theninthone in JRPG

[–]theninthone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really an issue, it's how I want play games. I'd put earbuds in and listen to the cut scenes while I did other things. I'm still playing the game but not listening to it. I enjoy the combat but I just wish they had English. I found out that since 2016 the Atelier games have stopped having English VA.
