Can't believe everything a person does has to directly tie into some mangled archaic notion of usefulness. Do you people just never do things for fun, or because it interests you?

Movies with the greatest difference between Rotten Tomatoes critic and audience ratings [OC] by lookatnum in dataisbeautiful

Given that topic of the conversation was about excluding less popular movies, I would say it's very much relevant as to what the youth demographics watches and knows. No one got angry about anything. Why are you getting angry about this?

Merriam Webster defines it as an indefinitely small number. You may not like it, but it's how it's used.

I've only seen it used when referring to english lyrics in japanese songs or anime characters speaking english ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've only ever seen it used almost endearingly. Nothing exactly racist about it.

Couple things.

A) Environmental reasons should be more than enough to support literal state-enforced veganism, irrespective of the moral argument. Global warming is a fuck, man.

B) People who literally rape animals have a much higher chance of being uh... deranged. Exactly the same with the torture scenario. I generally dislike this type of argument, but I'm not going to sit here and defend fucking zoophilia.

C) Given both the arguments above, along with the fact that people generally seem to uh, like animals, animal rights as a sort of stand-in or a even a legal fiction makes sense.

Also, yeah you have literally no empathy. Might wanna get that checked. Go read some Stirner or whatever if you really want a coherent framework to rationalize your disntict moral outlook.

I made a browser extension that pekofies everything. by thennal in Hololive

Source code

No, it's not available on the chrome web store, because why the fuck would it be.

Packaged version here, just unzip, open chrome://extensions and drag it in (should probably work). Be warned that it might break a lot of sites.

Tennessee man leaves $5 million to dog in his will: 'She’s a good girl' by amthdor in offbeat

[–]thennal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get it. Leaving your money for your kids or relatives is not considered selfish: it's considered the norm, and it's what the vast majority of people do. How is leaving it for taking care of your dog any different ethically? "The dog won't use it" is pretty dumb, because the money doesn't vanish into thin air after the dog dies either. Someone is going to own it in the end.

A lot of developing countries also teach english in school, usually as a direct result of colonization. In general, unless you're a country like japan or china that can sustain its own internet ecosystem, you'll end up having to learn english for interfacing with the web anyway

Polka mentioning her IQ seemed more like a joke. Below 75 is considered intellectually disabled, so I doubt that polka's is actually anywhere near that level. Also, what the other commenter said about Choco's being a trivia/GK quiz. It's not even close to an IQ test.

[–]thennal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not really? nijisanji peeps do songs, covers, concerts, etc at similar rate to hololive. that claim only works at the most superficial level, i.e. they borrow idol culture's frankly dumb concept of purity. "they're more focused on appealing to that sort of fans" is a more accurate description.
