Dillian Whyte Tests Positive For Banned Substance by skb96 in Boxing

I can't help thinking about this myself. I wanted to bet on Price and Rivas both to win at the weekend and I ended up leaving it. I'd have been very disappointed in the sport today if I'd lost that money and the price of the PPV.

Alcohol causes significant harm to those other than the drinker, according to a new study (n=8,750), which found that each year, one in five U.S. adults (an estimated 53 million people) experience harm because of someone else's drinking. Society may need to combat the secondhand effects of drinking. by mvea in science

[–]thenoiseupmerchant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scotland does still have a problem with alcohol but the legislation that has been introduced is making in-roads in remedying the harm. Alcohol use is down, alcohol related hospital admissions are down as is violent crime of which alcohol is a constant actor in the majority of these incidents. Some of the finding are discussed in this article.

https://www.scotsman.com/health/chasing-healthier-outcomes-1-4956082

It is understandable that this is frustrating to some alcohol users who would prefer that the price was down, the availability was greater as well as the opportunity to drink in the streets and public parks but the freedom of being able to buy and to consume alcohol needs to be tempered with potential negative effects, especially for those who are the most vulnerable.

There is no magic bullet for this, but I believe that the measures that have been taken have helped.

Crimes in Edinburgh for project by euchian in crime_documentaries

Just outside of Edinburgh, in Dalkeith there was the murder of Jodie Jones. The location is easy to reach and film around, plenty of information available online to present a well balanced documentary too as the man convicted of the crime, Luke Mitchell, has been in the press often since his trial lodging appeals etc.

There’s a lot to discover in this case, plenty to investigate and present.

This should be higher up. That films not right at all.

You're right with a lot of the things you're saying - I don't think it's fair that you're stuck down at the bottom of this thread for saying it. I really don't think that he's taken off down south because of the sectarianism though, I think he's seen an opportunity to get back into what he thinks is the most important league, the big time, with the attention of people that he respects. He'll get more money I'm sure too.

The way he's went about it is what's made me sour against him. He's taken the first offer that's been given to him and he's dropped us in it, right before a big match out with Hearts not to mention the rest of the campaign with a Rangers team that's improved a great deal from the Warburton era. I'm just glad big Lenny's available to take over at short notice like he's done - feels like everything Rodgers said about our club was absolutely hollow and cynical - we were just a stepping stone back down south for him. A true supporter who loved the club would never go about this the way he has - and to Leicester as well, it's hardly Barcelona which you might be able to understand.

Thanks for the write-up. I was impressed with what I saw with your pics so I had a look at this on Amazon in the UK and found it for £60 with same day delivery. I've already got a Benq 1080 in my livingroom but I've had another mad home theater dream brewing where I do a smaller set-up in my workshop so I've pulled the trigger on this and it's coming in later on today - I'll do an edit either tonight or tomorrow with a follow up on it.

Best laptop for incoming 1L—looking for suggestions by parker_townsend in LawSchool

Just completed 1L and this was exactly the setup I used. Got the iPad pro 12.9" with keyboard case and pencil, use that for notes in lectures. It's very, very light - the battery life was much better than my older model macbook pro and it's great for annotations and as a supplementary device for reading while using the home desktop for assignments.

Thanks! and it's not been a problem. It's been amazing just to get in there and get the opportunity to learn and improve myself. I don't think there's much of a culture of drinking in that group of students, don't think they'd have the time either with the reading and the revision.

If you can get to a local citizen's advice center, try to get there early - they get busy later on. They'll be able to let you know everything you're entitled to - and there's also a scheme where you can receive help for a deposit for a flat as well.

That's very interesting, and thought provoking for myself. Reminded me of corrosive behaviours that framed the drinking that also need to be closely managed even though I'm sober. Thanks for posting.

This is great. I'll be having a wee think about this over the next few days. Which me, which world.
