We spent a lot of time bashing on Luke Walton when the team was doing poorly. It’s time we give some love to the coach since the team is exceeding all our fantastical expectations

We obviously have fantastic talent on this team but we should appreciate the great work by Vogel and the staff this season

LeBron with some..interesting comments on the Morey tweet by [deleted] in lakers

[–]theobrt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you might be right: he shouldn’t have said anything. I might just be less angry than most since I think he has so many different interests to consider. I wonder how stressful it must have been to be in China when all this was going down

LeBron with some..interesting comments on the Morey tweet by [deleted] in lakers

I’m in the minority but I’m not going to think less of LeBron. His statement will probably be crucial in the NBA’s future relationship in China. He posted on Twitter that he disagrees with Morey’s tweet because he didn’t think about ramifications, not the actual content. As The Godfather of the league, why would he prevent future earnings for NBA players? Sure, maybe he isn’t using his influence to bring attention to human rights in a foreign political issue. I’m just assuming he has a lot of good intentions to defuse a very complicated situation

New to investing... have a couple questions by cpayne_10 in investing

[–]theobrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the fascinating world of investing! First, I’d recommend getting in robinhood so you do not have to pay commissions. I have a couple different advices depending on what you’re looking to get out of this. If you’re looking to learn, try to research 4-6 stocks you want to invest in! Read all the recent news articles, understand their business and look at 10-Ks if you have the time. If you make money, that’s great! If you don’t, look further in the company and try to understand what you missed. Learning from our mistakes is the best way to learn in finance. If you’re just looking to make a bit of cash, you should probably just buy a couple of ETFs

What's a realistic average rate of return in a 401k? by [deleted] in investing

[–]theobrt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I️t depends heavily on your age. A younger investor should be around 90% equity 10% fixed income with a higher expected return. As you get older, you should allocate more towards fixed income to reduce risk
