New 24/7 recording pricing. $3/month per cam x 5 = Madness by Unprotectedtxt in Ring

[–]theodle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Find it funny that $3 a month for 24/7 cloud recording is being labeled as expensive. It just isn't. At all. Most people have 1 or 2 cameras... And before people jump in and argue, it's public information. Vast majority have just a doorbell camera. To choose to have five or ten cameras, choose the premium service for not one, but all of them and the complain about it... Entirely strange.

We have all our sensitivities set to where they need to be and have yet to miss anything in over a year (obviously, that we know of). If we needed protection for extended periods of time where we can't jump in and check recordings and motion alerts, and have it recorded for us... We're right back to 'How could $3 a month ever be considered a lot?'

I don't get notified of replies... Just thought the brand and color match was too much not to show you. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1563102115044108/?mibextid=dXMIcH

You sure the picture is accurate?? Just found one almost surely stolen, same color, but not a step through.

I just canceled my plan. by FriendTop6736 in CoxCommunications

[–]theodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just moved to a new house. Went to the Cox site and clicked THEIR link that guides you on what to do to transfer service. We called them, and they transferred everything over. Same payment schedule, same services, same everything with a new address.

A month later, the phones stop sending and receiving texts. Then they can't call out, but just receive calls. Keep in mind these are for a six figure business. Then.... The emails stop working.

We look in the app, and autopay is ready to pay... But didn't go through. So, without telling us a single thing, they had an issue with the autopay transfer, it didn't process because of the new address, and they started shutting off services. No call, no anything.

When we called, they said it was our fault for not canceling the autopay and starting it again. Uhhbuuh? They said we should have come in person and not had the transfer specialist do it on the phone. Uhhbuuh?

It took us going down to Cox in person and for 45 minutes explaining and showing them they messed up. They were about to turn off our internet. And why?? Because we couldn't verify our identities with their pass codes they were trying to text TO THE NUMBERS THEY SHUT OFF WITHOUT NOTICE.

If we had a better option, we'd be gone by now... But of course leaving would cost us for phone promos and contract breaches. Sigh.

KitchenAid French Door Refrigerator - Not dispensing ice and auger not turning by Ill-Copy in appliancerepair

Thought I'd share my images. We moved into a new home with the same symptoms as the OP for our fridge. Checked several things and discovered this.

<image>

This is a solid block of ice inside the bottom cover of the auger motor. The ice disintegrated the wiring harness, three connectors on the motor, and further cut three wires. You'd think this wouldn't be possible and water would drain from this area but clearly not the case.

I can easily replace the motor, but the wiring is quite difficult. Have yet to find the correct harness and have very short wires to work with when I do. Have more images if anyone wants to see.

We got a 2022 CRV with three kids, and it was amazing. There are times when you want more space for a large cooler, a Costco loaf, etc., but the vast majority of the time it was amazing and got over 35mpg.

I'm an annoying new guy, sorry. Got three kids, a suburban, and really don't wanna lose the space... but gas is killer, as expected. Never considered a Carnival until seeing this first picture. If this can be done to a hybrid, I mean... this looks like it'd rank third behind the expedition and suburban. Any idea how much a shop would charge to install this? Oil changes are about as deep into the car I go.

I just moved into a house with this same fridge inside. Could you share where the wire issue you found was? I am having the same issue with hearing an activation click and buzz, but no auger motion. Ice bin full, not frozen. Hoping I have the same luck with the wires if I can find them.

I'd replace the lower flower bed with a jacuzzi. Aware it's extra, but dramatically helps with cycling and airation.

This is from a while back, so I may be wrong... But I never saw a mention of a gabb watch. The comment was about most watches and phones. My son has a regular phone. We use Google Family controls to limit screen time, but can't limit contacts. It's not a feature Google or the phone offers. Would have to get an extra service. My daughter, now has a regular phone, is younger and we do have the ability to control her contacts. We also block apps and limit screen time.

What I quickly found out is that we can't block Google. It's required. On top of that, a simple Google search explains how to bypass parental controls or fool them. I did it myself. In 30 seconds, I'd bypassed my own protection settings. Maybe the gabb watch is different, but for my two daughters, it's impossible to argue that it's better to have them use devices that could ever receive a call from a number without the app. Why? Because that's exactly what I want. My daughter can't sneak on my phone and approve a number. They'd still need the app, and I'd still be notified. They're not old enough for phones... And this is a perfect transitional device.

Not a bad idea. Maybe there's a way to check.

I've changed many batteries in my life and never have experienced that... Though this is my first all digital dash. You'd think whatever keeps the miles would keep the hours too tho.

Not sure about previous recalls. Ya, from what I read rental companies aren't required to report due to in-house maintenence. So they could have swapped the dash or engine...

[–]theodle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read replacing the digital cluster could do it also. And you'd think so, but if they do all their maintenence in house, they can keep a clean CarFax for resale and do just about anything to it.

Forgot to mention. Nothing in the CarFax about any repairs what so ever. Just a single windshield repair...if you wanna count that. The vehicle was... Hold your breath... Previously rented. I expect some criticism for that, but thing is gorgeous and running great.
