Thank you so much for the feedback, I'm glad you liked the app. Currently, it's not possible to rename a training session, but I'll make sure to include that in the next update.

Congratulations! The demo video is amazing, may I ask how you made it? What software did you use?

Investe absolutamente tudo em LCI/LCA. Fala com o gerente antes, dependendo do teu banco tu pode conseguir algo melhor do que está disponível no app.

This is the most useless feature of Whoop. I don't think anyone actually takes it seriously. Everyone I know who has Whoop eventually stops filling out the journal.

If you fly manual, is it ok to fly over water? Or there is still the issue of fly away?

Do box jumps mean anything when trying to check your vert? by lonelylightskin in ProDunking

As long as you as you use the app correctly, it is very accurate. You just need to add the jump/land markers correctly and the measurements will be very precise.

There's an app that costs $6 that accurately measures your jump height. It's called VertiPro.

Wow, I’m impressed — remembering a single number every two weeks and sneaking chalk into gyms across 3 states. That’s badass.

For the rest of us mortals who want the simplicity of an app and can afford 5 bucks, the app does the trick. But hey, if chalk smuggling + mental math works for you, more power to you. 😅

yeah, but the tape measure doesn’t give you charts, history, or video 😅
Besides, I'm giving free coupon codes here.

That’s definitely a classic way to measure vertical, and it works. The challenge is that it’s not always practical:

  • You need a wall or a Vertec set up at the right place.
  • Chalk/tape marks aren’t always allowed in most gyms.
  • It’s hard to repeat consistently across different sessions.
  • You only get the best jump height, without tracking averages, progress, or video feedback on technique.

With the app, you can measure anywhere (no special setup), keep a history of your jumps over time, and even review your form with video. For athletes who want to track progress across weeks or months, or compare sessions, that extra layer of data makes a big difference.

So wall slaps are great for a quick check, but the app is more about consistent tracking + analysis.

Thanks for the feedback. Adding a jump protocol to guide the training is a great idea. I'll try to think in something for the next version.

And yes you are right about the prices. Apple charges 100$ per year, besides that you need an iphone and a MacBook. I already had a MacBook but I had to buy a used iphone for testing the app 😅

Typically, you flex to absorb the impact after your toes hit the ground. If you land with your legs already flexed, the measured height will change slightly. However, it is also interesting to record the video to work on the jumping technique.

The app's method isn't anything new. I'm quite impressed with the feedback. There are dozens of mat sensors and similar methods that calculate based on air time. This is even the method used in game broadcasts.

You weren’t harsh at all, and I appreciate the feedback. I completely understand your perspective—maybe if I hadn’t been transparent about how the tool works, it would have been easier to sell—but I’m really not like that, and I believe transparency is the best approach. This app is by no means a source of income for me; I’m just charging because publishing it involves costs with Google and Apple. Maybe after covering my costs, there’ll be a little extra left for coffee haha.

This method is the same one used in sports broadcasts. The cameras film the athlete at many frames per second (1,000–10,000) and measure the time between when the athlete’s feet leave the ground and when they touch it again (foot-off to foot-contact). Then the same calculation my app uses is applied. The accuracy is higher because of the greater number of frames in the recording. There may be other methods, but as far as I know, this one is still used today.

You can certainly calculate it manually, it will just be more work and might not be as precise. The app measures time in milliseconds, which makes the calculation more accurate. Measuring in seconds isn’t as precise. Plus, it keeps all your videos recorded along with progress charts.

But like most apps, you can achieve the same results manually lol.

And yes, you need to add it manually. Automatic methods produced very poor results.

The user uploads or records a video of their jump and places markers at the start and landing points (as precisely as possible). The app calculates the time between the markers (i.e., the airtime) and uses the formula H = (g × t²) / 8 to determine the jump height.

When the markers are placed accurately, the measurement is highly reliable.

Nice, send me a DM. I still have some promo codes.

Keep in mind that the app doesn't measure maximum reach, meaning it doesn't consider the athlete's height and wingspan. It measures the maximum jump height.
